1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My own little Edward Cullen <33 on: September 24, 2008 05:50:23 PM
I <333 Edward Cullen! (Who doesn't?)  Wink

This is Edward: (played by Robert Pattinson) He's from the Twilight books/movie.

I wish Smeyer had given Edward more defining characteristics, cause he kinda just looks like any old redheaded boy lol. I might go back and put some clear-ish glittery glaze on him eventually lol.

Thanks for looking! <3

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Autumn leaf and Owl necklaces!! <33 on: August 22, 2008 08:42:32 PM
I've been making tons of jewelry lately lol...here are a couple new pieces:

First I wanted to make something fall-related and a little less kitschy & more adult I guess, and here's what I came up with..
Autumn leaf necklace:

The little dangling acorn: (my favorite part lol)

And I <333 owls so I decided to make an owl necklace too Smiley I think I'll make a normal brown one next...
Owl necklace:
The pupils are rhinestones and the eyes glow in the dark! Cheesy

This pic shows the actual colors best:

Thanks for looking!!! <33
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Strawberry bracelet!! <33 on: August 21, 2008 10:16:37 AM
I saw a super cute bracelet in a recent issue of Cosmogirl magazine and thought to myself, "Hey, I could just make that!" so..I did...lol
The original bracelet I saw in the magazine was one from Claire's, but for the life of me I can't find a pic. (And I don't have a scanner  Undecided)

Thanks for looking! Smiley
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Rubber Duckie necklace!! ( ')> on: August 19, 2008 10:13:47 PM
My rubber duckie necklace...

The duckie and the large blue beads are made of sculpey (except the bead directly above the duck) His eyes are little rhinestones.

As always I love to hear you guys' feedback!  Cheesy<33
6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / BELLA'S BRACELET & more TWILIGHT inspired goodies!!! <33 on: August 11, 2008 05:39:48 AM
Bella's bracelet!! I'm sending it to my very deserving (and unsuspecting) best friend today!  Grin

More Twilight inspired necklaces of my own design..  (I drown everything in glitter, i know i know lol)

I'm not as happy with this one. It was supposed to be a heart-shaped apple, but somehow I don't think it quite looks that way.  Cry

Comments are loved very much!! <333 Thanks for looking! (More to come soon! I'm making stuff for a bunch of us to wear when the movie comes out)
7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / TWILIGHT inspired jewelry!! <3 on: August 02, 2008 11:22:38 AM
For the Breaking Dawn release party last night I decided to make some new Twilight inspired jewelry. I suppose in retrospect I should've made chesspieces instead of apples, but I only had a couple of hours to make them and I'm sure you get the reference anyway Smiley

I designed this myself..I'm actually kinda proud of it Smiley

They're very glittery <33

I won a costume contest too! I wasn't actually a character really, just more of a respresentation of Twilight in general lol Cheesy

Comments are much appreciated! <3 I'm definitely going to be making lots more Twilight jewelry (can't wait for the movie premiere! YAY!!!)
8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A Sand Dollars Dove [Macro challenge entry] on: May 12, 2008 09:47:39 PM
Last year while on vacation in Florida my family and I picked up several dozen sand dollars and a few broke apart while sunbleaching. Remembering things I'd learned in Marine Biology class, I shook these little babies out of the broken dollars.

This is called a "dove" because of its resemblance to the bird. It is actually a sand dollar tooth if I'm not mistaken. There are 5 in every sand dollar and are said to bring good will and peace when the doves are "released".

You can read more about the legend of the sand dollar and its doves here:

Thank you for looking and I'd love to hear your comments!! Smiley
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Adult Costume: SHAKE YA TAILFEATHERS! Peacock costume on: October 21, 2007 08:32:50 PM
Ok so this year I decided to be a peacock. I also decided to make my costume for the first time. This is my first wearable craft ever & i should mention that my sewing machine is broken so i had to HAND SEW every bit lol.

I found this monstrously ugly 80s dress at a secondhand shop that was the perfect color and form. The back was longer than the front, so it could easily be converted to a tail. I bought it for 3 dollars!

It was originally probably a size 8 or so, (i am a size 20) and had ugly puffy sleeves and disgusting doily-like trim. I had an old blue pillowcase and other fabrics and bias tape, and this is what i came up with:

It's not a very literal looking peacock, its more of an interpretation.
BEFORE:

AFTER:

the tailfeathers:

I'm going to wear these hairfalls with it, they match the purple trim i put on the dress:
(i made them last year, theyre just an addition to my costume..i hope this doesnt violate any rules by posting these, if it does, please feel free to remove this part.)

Comments much appreciated!!
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / **TUTORIAL** EASY bday present from found objects on: October 02, 2007 03:10:35 PM
Ok so here's how this came about...

-it's my little brother's 18th bday today
-he loves the FL gators
-i'm BROKE.

I had a gator's tshirt that i used to wear *and stole from my bro lol* but don't anymore because it has become full of holes (mostly on the back)
We also have several old picture frames under the shed that nobody's using.. so i combined the two (and spent $0!!):
He loved it btw Smiley

(the shirt isnt really see-thru, my flash caused that lol

In case anyone is interested in how i did this, i'll include a tutorial for ya!

TUTORIAL:
[/u]

Materials Needed:
  - Frame
  - Cardboard (if the frame does not have a cardboard back)
  - T-shirt
  - Stapler or glue (I used both)
  - Scissors
  - Wood polish (optional)

1. Cut some cardboard to fit the frame. (if you dont have any already) And polish the frame if needed.
2. Cut out the part of the shirt you want framed. Be sure you cut it slightly larger than the piece of cardboard so the edges will fold behind it.
3. Place shirt panel over the cardboard, then fold the excess fabric around the back.
4. Staple edges. Keep staples right on the edge so they wont show from the front.
5. Place cardboard in frame and hang on the wall!
