1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: My Music-ish Collage----> only just discovered this board! :D on: August 24, 2006 09:59:15 PM
This is one of the very few collages I actually like. In fact, I love this one.

I spot Nirvana, I had a poster very similar to that photo. And, though I can't explain why, that halftoned photo makes me think of the Gallagher brothers of Oasis. Am I crazy?
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Margaret Sanger, and...a hooker? on: January 11, 2006 05:52:22 PM
They both look great!
When I saw Margaret Sanger in the subject line I groaned a little, though. I just got back my 6 page report on her for my US History class and she isn't exactly my favorite person at the moment, but I had to look anyway. (I got a B on the paper, luckily, so only getting 3 hours of sleep wasn't for nothing.)
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Myspace. Anti. on: January 03, 2006 09:17:21 PM
I saw the same image and wanted it on a shirt. But then I realized my school might not like the slut part, so I came up with something less vulgar but just as fitting.

I just finished it the other day, so I don't have any reactions yet.

I am one of two students in my journalism class who do not have a Myspace. At one point, someone went so far as to make a fake Myspace for me. It really is a disease, no, an epidemic.

Those are adorable.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My hands aren't cold anymore. (Furry Fingerless Gloves) on: November 07, 2005 08:15:23 PM
Thanks! I spilled Snapple on them today (and all over the Monopoly money). Sad Now I have to find a way to get the spot out.

made4music: They don't get cold because if I'm not using my fingers for something then I can either tuck them into the gloves or put my hands in my pockets.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My hands aren't cold anymore. (Furry Fingerless Gloves) on: November 06, 2005 03:36:12 PM
I live in California, to me anything below 60 degrees is cold. I love wearing gloves to keep my hands warm at school, but it's hard to write or do anything else while wearing gloves. I decided I needed some fingerless gloves. The other day I found over a yard of blue faux fur at the thrift store for $3, perfect.

Ta-da!

I can still put my hands in my pockets, one of my hobbies.

Proof that there are two of them.

My sister laughed but then admitted that she wants a pair. I'll debut them at school tomorrow and see what type of reaction they receive. I doubt people will be very surprised as the gloves match my hair, and my shoes.

Each glove is essentially just a rectangle of fabric twice the width of the widest part of my hand, folded in half and sewn up leaving a slit for the thumb, then hemmed at the top and bottom. I didn't make them too form-fitted because the fabric isn't stretchy so they would end up not fitting over my hand. They shed a bit as I didn't finish off the edges very well, but that just adds to the charm. I'd like to make a pair lined in this green satin that I have, but in my experience satin and fur are some of the most difficult fabrics to work with.

Auf wiedersehen!

That is really beautiful, it almost looks hand-painted. I bet you could even print more on cardstock and sell them as blank notecards.

I think I need a shirt with some sort of branch on it now.
8  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Argyle Sneaks on: July 29, 2005 11:44:54 AM
I'm in awe.
Those are so great. Now I know what to do with the shoes I was planning to paint for a friend.

Ooh, I love this.
The comparison thing is really great, it made me giggle.
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: "Let's Do the iTunes Shuffle!" 2 Mixed CDs Swap Gallery on: July 29, 2005 12:24:46 AM
Due to technical difficulties, jennye can't post pictures, but here are the cases I made for the swap.
RaeAmazon recieved the blue and jennye got the pink polka-dots.

I love both of the cd's I got. This was a great swap idea!
