1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Source for replacement growler?? on: November 03, 2007 01:03:23 PM
I have a toy shark whose squeeze growler has ceased working.  I operated this morning, and it looks like the rubber tube the air passed through to create the growly sound is cracked and hardening.  Does anyone know of any sources for beast parts like this?  My google searches have not been successful.  The only things I've found are the tip over bear growlers.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!  Sharky appreciates it.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Wristlet bag on: October 31, 2007 09:15:54 AM
I crocheted a shrug to go with my outfit for my lil bro's wedding in December, and since I had enough left over I made myself a camera bag.

This one makes it look like Meatwad's granny, but I like it.

Also, note my bobblehead dino Pedro in the background.  I heart Pedro.
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Kitty!! on: September 14, 2007 12:41:52 PM
My new kitty.  He doesn't have a name yet.

Such a sweet widdle face-

Kitty bum!!

He's impressed with my new rose bushes...
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / WIP folder bag on: September 04, 2007 09:07:48 AM
The Mr. and I are heading to Scotland & Ireland in a couple weeks to catch two Rugby World Cup matches and see some friends and I wanted a nice tidy holder for my crochet stuff I'm taking that can lay flat in my backpack.  Thus my WIP folder:

It's still a bit wonky and damp from yesterday's fulling, but I really like it better than I thought.  It's roughly 10 inches long x 7 high x 3 wide at the bottom.  I made it to match my Lion pattern hook holder.  The colors look much nicer together than in the pic.  (My graphic artist friend agrees)  The red line actually divides rows of cadet blue from dark teal, and the green really isn't repellent with the brown.  I'm not sure if I'll make a handle for it.

**Edited w/ more pics*

Added the handle:

With the handle pulled to close things up:

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Lion Brand market bag on: August 15, 2007 12:07:28 PM
Finished this a week ago.  It's off somehow, but it held my 1/2 gallon bottle of milk and a quart of chocolate milk just fine.
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / To do justice to the yarn- stitch ideas? on: August 10, 2007 07:52:01 AM
My lil bro is getting married in December, and I decided to make a shrug/bolero to go with my outfit.  I found the yarn, but I'm having a tough time deciding on the stitch.  I'm using Berroco Cotton Twist in Bengal.  It's a cotton blend with a subtle shine to it.  At this point I'm tinkering with plain triple crochet, but is there something that would let it show better?  Drop stitch maybe?
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Mauritius dodo & Shroom (img heavy-ish) on: July 26, 2007 12:38:59 PM
My first (Agaric) and second (Dudley) amigurumi attempts.  Both were from patterns I found at http://www.crochetme.com/

Since Dudley is easily distracted by new things-

I got him to sit still in Agaric's flip top.

Agaric when he's not pacifying the Dodo-

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Fulled wool slippers on: July 20, 2007 07:53:21 AM
I love fulling, so most of the things I crochet in wool end up in hot water.  I also started making slippers for myself and family.  The latest pair are almost dry:

(Patons Classic Merino)  It was an experiment to see if the flowers would be recognizable.  ummmm, not so much...
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Sock beasties on: July 13, 2007 10:33:31 AM
Hi! I'm new around here, but I've been making beasties for myself and loved ones for a while.  So here's two of my recent favorites:
Bill whale and Polly bunny

I just made a Ben bunny from the other sock.
