1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Who's That Pokemon? on: June 16, 2008 01:42:36 PM
Thanks Smiley I made up the pattern as I went along; did it on DPNs for most of it, used a circular around the widest part. Basically just did a sphere with intarsia for the eyes, then made the curl, hands, feet, and ears separately and sewed them on.

I'm going to have to get one of those mini Sharpies for her. Cheesy

It's a really nice yarn to work with, too. Smiley

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / pinwheel beret on: February 06, 2008 03:37:43 PM
This is based on the pinwheel sweater from elann, but I made it into a beret. I started out just like I would for the sweater, then when it was the right size I reduced the same way to make a sort of reverse pinwheel on the inside, then did a few rows of ribbing before binding off. It's easy and a lot of fun.

Yarn is Moda Dea Tweedledee in "Cinnamon".

Action shot! (and it actually matches my hair even better in person).

Thanks for looking!

Those are so cute! I've got a friend who would absolutely love something like this... actually it gives me an idea to try and knit some onigiri to go with them.  Cheesy
8  Category Challenges / Knitting: Challenge Entries / Re: Knitting Challenge Theme Ideas on: November 28, 2007 08:57:56 AM
i think a "Geektastic" theme would be fun.  there have been some nerd-minded projects on the knitting forum lately (DNA double helix, Companion Cube, etc.) and if that's too broad an idea, you could always combine it with something else, like a stash limit or expense parameter.

Oooh, I'd be up for this! Cheesy

Thanks! Cheesy

They're a very quick knit on DPNs.

I was commissioned by a friend to make her some bacteria inspired by this site.

So here they are, at several thousand times actual size.

Thanks for looking!
