It's Jigglypuff!

This is based on the pinwheel sweater from elann, but I made it into a beret. I started out just like I would for the sweater, then when it was the right size I reduced the same way to make a sort of reverse pinwheel on the inside, then did a few rows of ribbing before binding off. It's easy and a lot of fun.

Yarn is Moda Dea Tweedledee in "Cinnamon".

Sorry about the colour being a bit off in some of these. The bodice is done in a stranded design in black over stripes of cherry red and burgundy.



I decided to do a leg-o-mutton style sleeve using both colours; the cuff and the top of the sleeve are worked in stockinette and the main part of the sleeve is a 2x2 rib.



Here you see a closeup of the design on the bodice. I did a simple lattice design accentuated with an X in the center of each diamond.

This sweater is entirely my own design; I had a basic idea of what I wanted to do and built the pattern as I went along. Basically, it's a bottom-up sweater with body shaping and set-in sleeves, but the shaping of the sleeves and the colourwork on the bodice makes it special.

I made these as a quick gift for my mom out of leftover yarn. She loves blue and ivory, so I thought she might get a kick out of these, and I wanted to mess around a bit with stranded patterns.

Simply because I have mentioned it in a couple other threads, mainly stashbusting-related, I am sharing with you the 13-Foot-Long Scarf of Doom. It is just a k1p1 rib and was made to use up various scraps of yarn.



And yes, it actually is 13 feet long. It would've been longer but I'd run out of all but two colours of yarn at that point and it would've ruined the randomness.

This is a gift fot a friend who goes to renn faires regularly. Since most of her garb is muted shades of blue, I decided to make her a snood to go with it. Yarn is Simply Soft in "Country Blue".

Very easy pattern (and my first attempt at writing out a pattern that someone else can follow!)

On US size 6 circular or DPNs, cast on 72 stitches.
Rows 1-3 are k1p1 rib
Row 4: k9, yo, k9, yo, repeat til end of row
Row 5: knit
Row 6: k10, yo, k10, yo, repeat til end of row
Row 7: knit
Row 8: k11, yo, k11, yo, repeat til end of row
Row 9: knit
You will have 96 stitches on your needles.
Fishnet Lace pattern: Row 10 and all even rows: k2tog, yo, til end of round ending with a yo
Row 11 and all odd rows: Knit
Work in fishnet lace until lace portion is 11 inches ending in an odd row (all knit)
Then:
k2tog all the way around (you will have 48 stitches)
Repeat this round until you have 6 stitches. Bind off.
Weave in ends.

If you don't know, Mudkip is a type of Pokemon. I made this blanket for a friend who is also a Pokemon fan. The pattern was created by tracing a picture printed off the Internet onto graph paper to make the chart. The edging is a simple k2p2k2p2 design reversed every two rows to create a block, each side done individually with an increase at the start and end of each row, then joined at the corners. The outline around the Mudkip design was embroidered in black yarn. This was done in a simple inexpensive acrylic.
