1  Texas / Texas: Coastal / Need Seamstress In Houston TX on: June 24, 2010 02:58:17 AM
I have an event coming up, and need an outfit made. It's nothing too complicated, but I'm not finding anything off the rack.

I need it by July 3rd, I am willing to meet up in the city to discuss this. I realize it's on very short notice.

Please respond if you can offer your services, even if not for this event. I have quite a few garments I would like to comission.

PM or e-mail me jen.i.fuhr at gmail dot com
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / wedding pins/brooches (pics) on: November 18, 2008 06:58:51 PM
I have been put in charge of making a batch of pins/brooches similar to the ones traditionally used for the groom's lapel.

I am looking for any ideas on the pattern I should use.
this is what they looked like when we had them made for the other wedding. We didn't really like them as they were small, plain and were not the same green that we used everywhere else.

you can't see them very well in this picture because of the flash, but you can see the color that we used and how the pins looked mostly white from a distance.

you can see that the groom's was bigger and a bit different, but still not to my liking. excuse him for looking silly, I told him to look sexy for his wedding picture.

and a picture of the happy couple, thrown in for good measure.
can anybody please give me some help.
the new colors are burnt orange and gold accents, similar to the poster who did the (super awesome) fall wedding. also, think Gaby Solis when she gets married on DH.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / harnesses on: August 18, 2007 12:40:47 PM
I need help with making a harness for my rats. I'm wondering if I should use fabric, or those polyester straps that are on the backpack straps, you know the adjustable ones?

I'm really inexperienced with this kind of stuff, would anyone possibly like to swap me for one?

thanks
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / papermaking, new books, and costume jewelry. on: July 26, 2007 03:44:08 PM
I went on a papermaking spree, I experimented and even added some tea to some. that went a little wrong, the ones with black tea ended up with mildew like stains because the tea released afterwards. I took pictures but they're horrible. I'll edit when i get new batteries.

these are the new books I got from Half price.

some inside pics.

this one is a little more complicated

I'm up for sharing so if anyone wants tell me.

and finally I discovered some old jewelry that I had gotten at a garage sale a while ago, seems suitable for wearing or using as decoration. I, however have no idea what to do with them so, again, if anyone wants...

I can also take individual for you, when I get more batteries.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / what I've been up to lately (img heavy) on: July 26, 2007 03:28:04 PM

trying to make a purse out of this similar to http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=31017.0
but with a strap.

a journal I'm making for a friend, it was originally a book from the dollar store, it had nice illustrations, but I couldn't do much with it.

it's spiralbound, and has random pockets throughout.
what I've done so far:

a couple books I'm planning to journalize.

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / The frustration is sinking in. on: July 21, 2007 05:54:27 PM
so I got one of my friends colorguard flags and I'm hoping to make it into a purse. The problem is, I don't want to cut it.

it's 14 ft by 3 ft. please help, or suggest something else I could do with it, cause I really have no other idea.
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Mystery Package Swap on: July 19, 2007 12:53:21 PM
I figured since we all have different things that we like to make/are better at making, it would be fun not to limit ourselves to one theme.

Inspired from Faeriesmak's Mystery Packs, it's pretty self-explanatory, we swap packages of say..10-15 things?
Now before you exclaim "Is she crazy?", i don't mean 15 full fledged crafts. Small things, odd stuff from crafts gone bad, things you have that you don't know what to do with, etc. And if you need some fillers you can even send supplies, unaltered store-bought things/ found objects you bought but haven't gotten inspired to make anything out of.

requirements:
_min ONE/max THREE "big" crafts
_min THREE/max TEN small crafts
_min ZERO/ max EIGHT oddments

anyone interested?

any questions/comments/suggestions?

send date?
