2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Dandelions and stars on: October 09, 2013 05:23:09 PM
This is my first art quilt. I just started quilting this year and I am so proud of this one. I used a quote from a children's book called Stars by Mary Lyn Ray. There is over 750 yards of thread in this baby. Some of it is metallic so it shimmers as the light hits it. The beads are glass pearls. It was quite the learning experience I can't wait to start the next one!
3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Holy Grilled-Cheesus!! Momma's got a spinning wheel on: February 22, 2011 06:16:06 AM
I scored a seriously good deal yesterday and purchased a Louet S10 spinning wheel in **MINT** condition Grin
eeek... Sorry I don't mean to sound braggie but if you could see me I am doing my happy dance and squealling too...

But, I don't know how to use it Shocked

I figured I can teach myself since I am internet educated in most of my crafty trades but I am having a wicked time starting her up... I think the tension is off or something. I am headed to the library today to load up on books but I was wondering if any of you lovely people might have the same wheel and can help me out. Or share your beginner horror stories so I don't feel like a tool Tongue

I tried you tubing the louet spinning wheel and there isn't anything on the S10 but there are plenty of other videos that I have been looking at so I am hopeful.

Thanks for your help... here is a picture of my new baby Kiss

LOL!
Seriously, just remember to always look like you are pouting in pain. That is one this that drove me CRAZY about the movie. Her awkward mouth movements, and his look of pain/contstipation!

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Homeowrk for my Jewelry classes on: February 28, 2009 09:25:39 PM
Hi There,

The BF got me jewelry classes for Christmas this year, and this week's homework was to go home and practice our bead and wire work. I made the green pendant with some beads and wire that I had in my stash. The copper ring has sandstones worked into it, and the other two and made with fresh water pearls. I don't have much expirence with making jewelry, so I am so stoked to show these to the teacher on Wednesday!!!

Thanks for looking Smiley
