31  Re: Sublime Stitching Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by goodtimegirl on: December 09, 2008 12:46:47 PM
Thank you so much for crafting for me, crazy red. My whole family is happy!!

For the doggers:

A close-up of the shrinky dink:

A tin with soap in it:

The soap with a beautiful sticker holding the packaging on:

The soap smells phenomenal, by the way.

A hat and scarf:

(She knew I wanted a crocheted/knitted hat, so she traded her crafty skills for it!! So very thoughtful!)

A picture of all the goodies:

I couldn't get a good picture of the green bag, but it says "Really Sweet" on it. This whole package was really sweet!! Thank you.

p.s. My husband chowed down on the chocolate. I made him save the wrappers so I can use the graphics on them. So cute!!

Like turbo_mom said, there are so many great swaps coming up. But this one sounds awesome!! I love my furry children.

I love giving them reasons to need puppy therapy.

I got an AWESOME (and I mean AMAZINGLY AWESOME) Shakespeare platter from Im Sew Silly. It's burned wood (is that the term) and absolutely amazing. I've got it in my room. My students are amazed by it, and my teacher friends are all jealous. It was way more than I ever expected!

The whole platter--note the Shakey and the Romeo and Juliet scene.

"That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

A closer-up...

And Mr. Shakey himself...

She also sent some cute fabrics...and they are perfect. I'm working on a patchwork bird-fabric scarf, so I can't wait to use this.

Kasie claimed me for a crocheted/knitted hat, and sent me this amazing hat! I love it. It's a mauve-y color with a black flower. It's been cold here, so it's getting a lot of use.

This is a very happy, and a very cozy-warm me wearing it.

And here's the flower.

Thanks for claiming me, Kasie!!

35  Fantastically Fall Coasters in Needlework: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: November 15, 2008 07:39:53 PM
I love Fall, and so does Kaissa, my swap partner for the Fill-a-Mug 3 swap. I was so excited because I'd found this tree pattern somewhere on the internet and couldn't wait to use it.

This took me quite a while because of all the tiny leaves. It was so fun though.

I got the yellow and brown leaves fabric for $1 a yard at Hancock Fabrics. The background of the first photo is the apron I made with the swap package.

Here is the link for the pattern: http://www.jmddesigns.co.nz/mosaic/designs/mosaic-tree-fruit-jmd.jpg

Closer pictures of the package Kaissa sent me!!

The tea pouch (which I've also used for the mulling spices--I love spiced apple cider in the morning):

The cup cozy (I've gotten so many compliments on this!!):

The turtle pouch (which has become my pencil case):

And the beautiful photograph (which is going to decorate my crafty space):

Thanks, Kaissa!!

I love everything: a zipper pouch (which has been turned into a pencil case), a teabag holder, a beautiful framed photo (which has two of my favorite novels in it), coffee body scrub, a coffee cozy, and lots of goodies!!

When I get my camera working again, or my husband is feeling nice enough to take pictures for me, I'll post more.

38  Trick-or-Treat!! drawstring bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by goodtimegirl on: November 01, 2008 11:36:33 AM
I love Halloween. I have a habit around Halloween time of buying lots of Halloween fabrics and then never using them. Not this year. This year my husband nagged me enough that I made my two favorite neighbor children trick-or-treat bags.

I used this tute (http://thelongestyear.typepad.com/DrawstringBagInstructions.pdf), but changed the dimensions to be a bit boxier instead of rectangular.

I made the bags out of the same material, just in different colors so there was no fighting over which belonged to whom. I lined the bags with my favorite material ever: candy corn material!!

Comments, questions, criticisms?

Yay!! I got my needlework supplies today in the mail. It's perfect because I'm home sick and actually have time to play with them. Be jealous!!

Excuse the lined paper. I couldn't find anything else to put under the frames. This rectangular frame is so cool. I'm just sitting here thinking about all the great things I'm going to make using it!

Thank you, Therisa!! This is awesome!!  Grin

40  I <3 the Cardinals in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by goodtimegirl on: October 05, 2008 08:29:34 PM
Even if they didn't make it to the postseason, I still love my Cardinals. My hubby and I had a few games to go to this year. I hate wearing shorts to games because they drive me nuts when I'm sitting in the stands sweating like crazy. But I don't think I'd be allowed in wearing just a t-shirt. So, I decided I obviously needed a Cards sundress.

Aren't we some cute baseball fans??

I had the red jersey fabric by the ton. I also had a striped men's button-down. And I had my former favorite Cardinals gear that didn't fit anymore, so I used the logo for my new dress. I had a heck of a time putting it all together, but it worked out. I got a lot of compliments on it at the game. I might have to make another for next year.

I had to add the striped fabric to the bottom of the dress because I asked my husband if the original length was too long. He said yes. I cut without pinning and checking first. I felt slightly indecent. I wish I would've had enough fabric so the bottom could run the same way as the pockets and such. But alas. Don't ask hubby for sewing advice.

The pockets might be my favorite part...not gonna lie.

p.s. Sorry I'm so verbose.
