11  Baby Blanket from H-E-double L in Crochet: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: July 20, 2009 08:21:49 PM
I'm an instant-gratification kind of girl...so, crocheting a baby-ghan in all single-crochet was not a good idea...but I did it. And I do like the way it turned out. But it was so incredibly tedious. I hope this kid carries the blanket until she's in college!!

Crocheted using Bernat Varigated Cotton and a small hat to match.

The mommy-to-be loved it, and I suppose that's what matters.

C/C welcome! Thanks for looking!

12  Yarn Ball Stamp in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: July 20, 2009 08:18:57 PM
My first attempt at rubber stamp carving. On a whim I bought a kit, and I love it. This was the first.

13  20's Style Beaded Flower Necklaces in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by goodtimegirl on: July 20, 2009 08:17:32 PM
I found these pretty flower pendants at Michael's, and they were just dying to be necklaces.

**Disclaimer: My husband was more interested in taking artsy fartsy pictures of me than getting good pictures of my necklaces.**

I LOVE asymmetry. This one wears awkward though because the pendant is too heavy. It keeps wanting to slip down. (Ignore my face. This was after way too many of said artsy pictures.)

C/C welcome! Thanks for looking!

14  Re: IYP 12: The Sock Hop! gallery of awesomeness!!! in The Swap Gallery by goodtimegirl on: June 15, 2009 01:40:30 PM
Ugh. I couldn't get a good picture of my goodies. My camera is not cooperating.

It's a really cute notebook, which I need to keep track of ideas, scribbles, drawings, inspirations, etc; pens; and a fold-out notebook. All so incredibly cute!!

Thank you, miss_kassandra!!!!

p.s. If I can get my camera to cooperate, I'll take better pictures and post them.

Package 1!!

I'm sosooso sorry MommyTheMaid. I really thought I posted these. I tend to think I post pictures and not actually do it. I'm flighty.

The packages all lined up together...

My instructions...

Attached to this was a bag of orange slices. I ate while I read and opened. Little did MommyTheMaid know, orange slices are one of my hubby's favorites...so he polished off the rest of the bag.

A trash bag for my car in her favorite craft supply, fabric, and reusable snack bags with her favorite flower.

Something made of paper demonstrating her love of scrapbooking and my love of my puppers.

Gratuitous puppy shot...

Something made of yarn. This guy is so incredibly adorable!! I've used him a few times and every time someone has commented on him.

Something drinkable (and delish), favorite tea. Something from her favorite store, Hello Kitty candy from Cost Plus. Summer essentials: recipes, jello and cookie cutter (chosen by her darling daughter).

Something that smells good--soap, which I've used nearly every day. Smells so good. And something she never leaves home without...Burt's Bees lip balm, which I'm addicted to.

Extra fun...I'm an English teacher and love to read...and drink. So this is perfect.

A group shot...notice that monkey. He just has to be the center of attention.

Ugh. So, mommythemaid linked to photos of the package she sent me, but I had to post these, as she sent an awesome package!! Seriously. I didn't get to it sooner, as I've been laid up on the couch with a toothache. Apparently, I had some sort of infection in my gums and have to get a root canal. Exciting, huh?

But, this package lessened the blow!! The hubbs and I are getting ready to paint our living room turquoise and white, so these are PERFECT!!

I love the red in the branch! It looks so pretty with the colors! I feel like my pictures aren't doing these justice.

All three together:

And a teaser...this is the yarn I'm using with mommythemaid's final package:

It's pink, not orange...

16  Pears, apples and aprons, Oh my! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by goodtimegirl on: May 12, 2009 03:43:34 PM
I made this apron as a thank-you gift for a friend. It really came together quickly, and she absolutely loved it. I have more of the fabric, so I'm thinking I need to make another one.

Thanks for checking it out!!

17  Little birdy on a limb necklace--Need opinions!! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by goodtimegirl on: May 05, 2009 08:24:03 PM
I made this necklace over the weekend. I've had it in my head for quite a while now.

There is a chain that goes about halfway around, then it connects to a string of pink pearls. The connector attaches at the bird on a limb charm.

I thought about adding another bit of chain on the right side....not as long as the left, but just a bit of chain. I'm so indecisive.

I thought I liked that it was asymmetrical. I'm really up in the air now. I showed it to my hubby and he implied he wasn't a fan...so, I figured I'd go to the craftster community. What do you all think?? (Like I said, I'm not sure. It's one of those second-opinion type things.)

The cases hotgluegert sent me:

Look at that satin stitching!! It's perfect!

And the border:

There was also a pattern, but it was upstairs hanging out with some tea towels I'm going to embroider with it.

Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much BonBabbu for such an awesome package!! I ::raven:: Poe will be hanging in my classroom Monday. And I'm starting The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon tonight. The story behind it is so awesome.

All the goodies together

The postcard book (so cool!!)

The sheep--I couldn't get a good picture of her. She's also heading to my classroom.

I ::Raven:: Poe pillowcase...classroom decoration...

There was also a cute pair of earrings. I forgot to snap a picture of them, but I've worn them every day this week and gotten so many compliments on them.

Thank you sooooo much!!

20  Crayon tinted and embroidered deer in Needlework: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: April 08, 2009 08:22:27 AM
I decided to try a new technique for a recent embroidery swap. My partner liked deer, and I had some patterns I'd been saving for a rainy day. I'd also just read the thread on here about crayon tinting and decided to try it.

I really like the way it turned out. I just traced the pattern with my water soluble marker, then I colored it in and ironed. And ironed. And ironed. Eventually the crayon felt like any other part of the fabric, so I stopped.

Finished deer:

An in-progress shot:

And she decided she wanted to become a lap blanket:

The edges will fray as she's washed to create a worn in look.

I'm a big fan of crayon tinting. I kind of can't wait to use it again.
