1  My first socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by Shawnkyr on: September 17, 2005 01:30:36 PM
These are the first socks I have ever made:

The yarn is Socks that Rock, Blarney Stone.  I believe the pattern is called "Autumn Socks" or something like that, in the book SocksSocksSocks.

I love them.  Everyone should make socks.

 Cheesy

2  Wearing my heart on my sleeve in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Shawnkyr on: July 24, 2005 10:36:28 AM
When my hubby went for his second trip to Iraq earlier this year, Sublime Stitching helped me make a little momento of him:

It's on the sleeve of a shirt, like a little old school tattoo of love.  Here I have the shirt on.  Got any idea how hard it is to take a picture of the side of your upper arm?  Only slightly easier than embroidering on a stretchy little shirt sleeve.

His name I did freehand (and ended up horrifyingly close to how my terrible handwriting actually looks).  I sent him the picture after I finished it.  Thanks, Jenny, for helping me craft a little tribute to the hubby I love so much while he was so far away.   Cheesy

3  Dragon Filet Crochet in Crochet: Completed Projects by Shawnkyr on: April 22, 2005 04:37:13 PM
Howdy all!

Pardon the suckage of this picture:

This is a filet crochet dragon, size 10 thread, pattern found here:

http://www.angelfire.com/folk/celtwich/Dragon1900.html

Mine's not as nice as the sample picture with the pattern (could be the hook size I used, I dunno), but oh well.  I'm still a little proud of it.   Cheesy

4  Skully Sweater in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by Shawnkyr on: November 20, 2004 04:36:49 PM
Here's my Skully, first sweater ever.  Cheesy

I gained lots of weight while working on this, so the small isn't really convincing as an oversized sweater.  Still, I'm proud.

Here's the top.  Fortunately, you can't see it when it's on.

6  Re: knitty's kyoto in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Shawnkyr on: November 20, 2004 04:21:00 PM
Okay, here's the first three inches:

I started knitting a little tighter to see if the holes close up.  If it works, I might frog and start over to make it tighter.  Thoughts?
