1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / finished just in time for inauguration day, yay! on: January 20, 2009 09:04:56 AM
I started on this right after election day from Julie Johnsons Subversive Cross Stitch pattern, wow it took forever! This was my third cross stitch ever and I'm so happy to get it done.

Good luck to our new president, he's got a lot of hard work in front of him!
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Buckface and Dimmu Burger on: April 30, 2008 10:33:28 PM
I made these patches for my boyfriend for his birthday. The first is the logo he drew for his band Buckface. This is the death metal version of the logo, even though they're not a death metal band, just kinda punk. It's a little smeary on the bottom left but it's my first freezer paper stencil so I'm just happy it came out OK.

Second is the Dimmu Burger patch. Dimmu Borgir is a black metal band from Norway that is AWESOME. I don't know who thought of turning it into the Burger King logo but the first time I saw it was on our favorite show Metalocalypse, when Nathan Explosion had the nightmare that he wasn't a rock star anymore and had to work in a fast food place.

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way on: April 30, 2008 10:24:39 PM
Jessica Rabbit, what can I say about her that hasn't been said?? I used the glitter fimo for a little extra zing, which now that I look at it isn't all that visible in the picture. I'll re-take them in better light tomorrow.....

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Ramones choker on: April 30, 2008 10:20:11 PM
I've been picturing this in my head for months and finally got off my butt and made it. It's a tribute to my favorite band in the whole world, RAMONES!! A RIP for Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee, with a shrinky heart especially for my beloved Joey.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / now a sweet going to shows top on: April 30, 2008 10:09:37 PM
I got this HUGE (22/24W) turquoise shirt for $3 at Target and threw it in my to-be-reconned pile (with about 20 other things that still need work...). Took it in, added the eyelet ribbon and glittery skulls and VIOLA, it's now a fab top for hitting the town

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / cheap-o jewelry board on: February 12, 2008 04:18:48 PM
My very small jewelry box had been getting might crowded. I though I'd buy one of those large corkboards and just hang all my necklaces with pushpins. Staples wanted around $30 for any of the decent sized ones, so I bought these little corkboard pieces instead. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and it's easily expandable for when I make more jewelry.

7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Mugatu costume for my son on: October 30, 2007 11:35:36 PM
My son has now won two TWO costume contests with this Mugatu (from Zoolander) costume that I made him

Here's the original:

and here's my version:

We unfortunately do not have a little dog for him to carry around, and he'd kill me if he saw I posted these! I'll get a couple more pictures tomorrow, with his friend Amy (whose demented little red rding hood costume I also made), but I was so impressed that he won two contests that I couldn't wait to post these!!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / a couple of necklaces on: October 29, 2007 10:45:42 PM

far away shot, then close up, I made the bead from a flat-back glass bead (like the ones used in floristry), then glued a picture of red leopard print (from a magazine) to the back, wrapped it in polymer clay and put a head pin in it for the loop

carnelian buddha and beads with turquoise

wooden buddha head with carnelian beads

imitation cinnaber and yet more carnelian beads (I must've been on a carnelian kick that month)

imitation cinnabar and turquoise

all made with seed beads, they're tiny but I love them and haven't made any jewelry without using them for like a million years
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / skull cut-out T on: October 29, 2007 10:24:49 PM
not sure if this should go on this board or on the re-con board. I used my favorite type of fabric, asian print brocade, had the boyfriend draw a skull (since I can't draw for crap) and sewed away.

I've since made these in a couple of different prints but that asian brocade is a bit** to sew on so I'm looking for other options

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / duct tape purse on: October 29, 2007 10:11:53 PM
I saw this on "Stylelicious" and had to make one for myself. I think I have to do a little fixing, I want it to open wider and I'm going to add a clasp (probably one of those asian flower ones).

the handles are made from those wooden bendy snakes, I love them but they're a little unweildy
