1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Bright Baby Rag Blankie on: April 23, 2008 09:42:18 PM
I wasn't sure if I should put this in quilting or here, but I figured I didn't really quilt this one so I'd just put it here!  This is one of the rag quilt/blankies I've made recently.  I really liked how the colors turned out on this one, it was for a baby brother of one of our preschool students at the school I work at.

I don't have any pics of it after I washed it, I was too excited to give it to baby!  I'd love any feedback!  This blankie was a small one, about 28" square, but baby was a premie and barely weighs 12 pounds now (he was born super bowl sunday).

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Fleece for backing? on: April 22, 2008 09:20:06 PM
Has anyone ever used fleece for backing on your quilts?  I have three quilt top ideas in mind that I would rather have as throws, not thick quilts with batting.  I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for this.  I've seen a few online different places but not any tutorials.

Thanks!!
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My first charms and beads on: August 15, 2007 07:11:40 PM
Here's my first clay charms and beads!  I make charm bracelets already but these are the first charms I've made from clay.  I was excited to try to make a cake and while my first two ended up being smushed up into something else, I was really happy when this one turned out!  (the pasta machine made all the difference!)  The beads were made out of some scraps with the help of a 5 yr old  Grin

I need to gloss everything yet but I'm not sure what to use.  I can't find any of the Sculpey gloss at the craft stores near me.  I have a spray on acrylic gloss, does anyone know if that would work?

Thanks for looking!!
4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello! on: July 18, 2007 05:27:22 PM
Hi everyone!  I've been a registered member for a few weeks now but haven't had a chance to post.  I'm already addicted to Craftster!

A little about myself:  I live in Denver, CO where I am a nanny and the director of a non-profit youth performing arts organization.  I am also going to school to be an elementary school teacher.  I love all kinds of crafting but currently I'm into making magnets, candles and a little scrapbooking (My husband and I were just married in June so I have a ton of pictures I need to do something with!)  I'm looking forward to trying some polyclay charms and jewelry making after being inspired from this site!

I'm really looking forward to being an active member of Craftster!
