1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Six piece green glass espresso set? on: March 07, 2008 01:07:18 PM
About ten years ago I bought the most beautiful 1970s looking green glass espresso set from a charity shop for about 2. Six cups, six saucers. Absolutely gorgeous, but I hate coffee and the cups are really too small to drink anything else out of! I couldn't resist the colour though; I love green.  Grin

It has been sitting in the newspaper it was wrapped in for a decade now, and has seen 6 house moves with me without once being unwrapped! I would love to finally do something with them as they're too nice to be hidden away for another 10 years, but just can't think of how to use them. I thought of using them as plant holders but they're too tiny for even my smallest cactus, and I pondered filling them with wax and using them as candles but I'm overrun with candles as it is! I can't even present them to anyone else, no-one I know is a coffee drinker either!

Any ideas?
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / 500 random Christmas cards! on: July 25, 2007 04:16:04 AM
What on earth can I do with them all?

I have recycled lots of them into new Christmas cards to send, made a small mountain of gift tags and made more kissing ball decorations than my small tree would ever be able to handle. But I still have hundreds left!

They're all unused and good quality, so it would be a shame to throw them away - any ideas?  Huh
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My first stuffie! on: July 15, 2007 11:59:57 AM
Looking a bit startled and wide-eyed at being brought into the world, but with plenty of love to give!

Very basic but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, especially as I sew like an elephant in mittens.

4  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / U.K. AND IRELAND / Wooden or plastic matchboxes? Do they exist? on: July 13, 2007 07:20:52 AM
So I'm thinking about making an advent calendar from matchboxes but as I'd like to reuse it for years to come I want to make it as sturdy as possible. I've been trying to find wooden or plastic matchboxes everywhere but to no avail - does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on some? In the UK preferably, but I'll order them from abroad if I have to.
Thanks!
