1  Bleach stencil of my babies' silohuettes in Stenciling: Completed Projects by honeyspoon on: July 22, 2007 12:08:22 AM
I used both of my son's silohuettes to create a stencil for this. Bleaching is FUN!!! Instant results. It's like magic.

2  Simply Spray XTC t-shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by honeyspoon on: July 21, 2007 11:50:01 PM
This was my first attempt using simply spray... it bled a little and was sort of hard to work with because I used cardstock and it curled up. I know now that spray adhesive or freezer paper would have worked better. If anyone has pointers on how to work with this stuff I'd love to hear it. It was fun but I'm not totally happy with the results. Does anyone know if this brand has opaque colors that you can use on a dark shirt?

3  Transformer paint stencil in Stenciling: Completed Projects by honeyspoon on: July 21, 2007 11:36:52 PM
I made this today for my boyfriend. After I made this one I experimented with different methods and I see now that it could have been a lot better but I'm still pleased with it and so is he. It's not bad for my first stencil. After I made it I was searching for bleach stencils and found that Amphigorey has done the same image using bleach. Hers turned out really really cool. I showed it to my boyfriend... maybe I shouldn't have. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=147213.0. Anyway, this is the album cover

and this is what I ended up with

4  Big boy hats for my babies in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by honeyspoon on: July 21, 2007 11:02:59 PM
I made these hats to protect my boys' heads fom the sun. I guess you could call them recons because I made them from leftover material from their Daddy's pants to shorts conversion. I took apart a similar hat to see how it was made and loosely based the patterns off of that, but they actually didn't end up looking much like the original hat at all. Elliot's has red stitching and Oliver's has blue. I think they sure are handsome looking fellas.

5  Play skirt with "acorn pocket" from old thrift store find in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by honeyspoon on: July 21, 2007 08:08:38 PM
I made this skirt as a birthday gift for my very cool and very girly 2 year old friend Julia. It started as a thrift store dress I found years ago but could never quite fit into. I had no idea what I was going to turn it into but was shooting in the general direction of a skirt. It turned out better than I imagined it would considering my amateur seamstress status and the lack of a final vision...  AND IT ACTUALLY FITS HER!!! Unfortunately I have no photos of her in it just yet but my son was more than happy to be my human dress form. His waist is the same size as hers but she's quite a bit taller so it fits her as a mid-calf lenght skirt. She loves to pick up acorns so I preserved the original pocket which is giant for a 2 year old girl... giant enough to fit a bushel and a peck of acorns. The trim is from a shirt of my boyfriend's as is the material for the applique.
