It's adorable! Looking at that little guy every day would automatically put me in a good mood.

Yeah, figuring out how to cut up the material was the biggest challenge. Try to make the patches too big and you run into problems with the seams, pockets and grommeting. Make them too small and you waste a lot of material that's irregularly shaped! I ended up with so many small fragments that had to be thrown out, but c'est la vie.

Sewing denim is a trial, I'll tell you that! It took me a while to figure out how to adjust my machine in order to accommodate the thick material. It's not my favorite stuff to work with, but I think that the final product made all the frustration worth while.

My boyfriend recently went through his wardrobe and was on the verge of throwing out several pairs of his old jeans. They were worn out, had a few holes, and really weren't fit to be worn anymore. But why waste good fabric?

This coverlet is large enough to fit over the bottom 3/4s of my bed, making it a great decoration. It's made from three pairs of guy's jeans and is backed with a soft navy colored flannel. It's smaller size and (surprising) lightness have already made me glad to have it during the spring weather, when it's cool enough at night to need a blanket but still too warm to use my winter bed spreads.

Not to mention that the additional pockets and slightly distressed material make it fun to have around!

This was a bit of a stash buster - I'm glad to have used up the last bits and pieces of these fabrics.
And lined with fleece inside, it's so warm and soft!
