Anyone do art with metal? I found these super sweet art pieces in a cafe while I was visiting friends over the weekend.
They look to be just thin copper plates rubbed over things to add the texture/3d element of the planet and then stained and painted. They are super cool, but I don't have supplies for them!

COOL 'eh?!

and here are some other crafty bits I saw on my trip

eep! OFF TO SHOP!

Wink

I felt so proud of myself when I set up my craft corner in my room....until I realized that wee mouse sleeps in there all the time so I couldn't make things while she was napping *slaps forhead*
I snuck my serger out without waking her yesterday. lol

I just had to sneak in there for my pincushion!

BUT, it was all worth it. I just finished sewing some wool longies for a friend and I am so happy with how they turned out. I am kind of a.....freeform....sewist, so whenever something turns out looking professional I get giddy.

Good morning, group!

Abbeeroad, those rings are so pretty!

LxM, how old is babyMouse now?  I can't seem to keep up -- I remember teething being
such a sleepless & fussy time -- ugh.  Hope she gets through it soon & on to the next
phase  Smiley

and....
an odd question for the group --
does anyone use old bed sheets for anything (quilting, maybe?)
I have a couple that I'm ready to toss, but thought I'd mention it just in case~

wee mouse is 10 months old!!!

I'm going to dye some fiber today (If I can manage it) and list it in my shop. Any color recommendations or requests?

loudxmouse, I am guessing you're too busy to do any spinning with the dyed fiber?

that's my goal Wink I could overdye the tan fiber  I already have listed with red to cut down on time and "cost" of you are still interested

Hooray!  I am 100% interested.  Red over the tan will be great!  Is it possible to get a little bit of light blue in there too?
maybe. because it's already all dyed brown I don't know if the blue will show or if it will turn muddy because of the tan base... hm

So.....it didn't happen today. lollll. Baby Mouse has been super teethy and clingy. She has SIX teeth already. sigh
tomorrow!

ETA: anyone have any KAM snap plyers gathering dust?

I remember loading games off of cassette tapes because we didn't have floppy drives.   I also remember the day my dad got the first floppy drive (5.25" size) and was amazed at how much faster it was to load a game...minutes instead of an hour.  Wink    Shocked

What kind of fiber, lxm?

just "domestic wool" whatever that means

Just went on a cleaning binge. the closet looks great and I went through some of my personal knits that don't get any love that I plan on listing.

I remember having games on diskette and it was like 10 diskettes for one game, which probably amounted to like 30MB of information...lol

Hi all, I am looking for some hand spun yarn in a rather particular style and color that I am hoping maybe I'll get lucky and one of you will have something you're willing to part with.

I am looking for something that is a little chunky in mostly reds and browns.  Here are the best examples I could find for what I am looking for in order of how much I like them for the project:

Thanks!

I may have some roving in my stash! I'll check when baby wakes up!
I haven't spun since I moved Sad so sad

That's love right there!

I sewed a pair of wooly baby pants this morning to test my serger tension for a pair I was commissioned for....whoops. I suppose I could have just used a scrap Wink
But now baby mouse has a warm tush, so I suppose it was all worth it. Any interested in baby sweater pants?

All my craft stuff is in my room where baby is sleeping :/

I could DRY the apple butter into fruit leather for ease of shipping Wink

I need to go shop!

I still need hotpads, christmas stockings, and any old, wool sweaters you have lying around. Anyone?

I have hot pads in my shop, but they might not be your taste. I can make some in different colors if you want me to.
