14  some embroidery, some x-stitch! in Needlework: Completed Projects by beelisty on: January 02, 2009 08:17:04 AM

from the mitch o'connell series put out by sublime stitching...

shoe from jenny hart's stitch-it kit converted to peep to and text added by me-- that's my handwriting Smiley

lipstick from jenny hart's stitch-it kit with FEMME.  the best part?  the strands of metallic in the lipstick tube, if you ask me... Smiley

i made this before chrismahanukwanzakah.  i love the rainbow houndstooth border.

two queer slogans-- they're patches now and have been given to friends in the avengers.

a custom bowling towel

paul westerberg, musician

i'm working on a few things right now... a portrait of audrey hepburn, a birthday gift for my father-out-law, and more queer slogans.

i've started a cross-stitch graffiti project where i stitch things and leave them in public places... the slogans are part of that.

As always, patterns were made on PC Stitch, and these were all stitched by me over the last few months...  I'm working on Benazir Bhutto now-- she should be finished by tomorrow if I get a lot done tonight while watching election results.

19  Re: September Featured Project and Interview in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by beelisty on: September 27, 2008 06:43:19 PM
Wow! That is wonderful. Makes me want to do that for my own grandparents.

You totally need to post that portrait of Grace Kelly you referred to once it is done. I totally love her and would love to see it.

here you go!

20  a couple more portraits in Needlework: Completed Projects by beelisty on: September 15, 2008 04:48:57 PM
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was done on 22 hardanger w/ a palette of 18 colors for a greyscale effect. Smiley

Grace Kelly was done on 18 AIDA w/ the same palette.

For optimal viewing, stand up and walk a few feet from the computer.  The only way I know how to take photos makes them look like close-ups and they look better from a few feet away. Smiley
