1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / do you get more business if you're billingual? on: August 28, 2007 12:58:31 PM
Do businesses get a larger customer base if they are bilingual? Because I have heard that if you live in an area where there is a large immigrant population, it is s good idea to make your business bilingual, so you can cater to everyone's needs.
2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / How much yarn can you make with 1 pound? on: July 23, 2007 02:38:07 PM
I have been looking at all the fibers and they sell them in different quantities. How much yarn can you make with

4 oz.?
1 pound?
a half pound?

If you spin the yarn small (i think it is lace weight) will the fibers last longer?
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / "I'm Old and Married" swap? on: July 23, 2007 07:44:29 AM
I have been browsing the swap boards, and I came up with an idea. When I finally get the okay to do swapping, I would love to see a swap for all us "old married couples". We could do things like stuff to "spice up the marriage" (coupon books, etc.), make things for our partners' spouses and/or kids. Make things commemorating our marriages/anneversaries. The possibilities are endless. What do y'all think?
4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / How Expensive is this gonna get? on: July 20, 2007 06:46:47 AM
I wanna start spinning soon, and I have been looking at roving and wheels and spindles, and things like that. And they look kinda pricey to me. But maybe I am just looking in the wrong place. How much did y'all have to shell out when y'all started spinning? Cause it looks like I am gonna be $50 in the hole
