1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Help please! Stringing/crimp bead issues on: January 15, 2008 06:13:34 PM
Ok when I first started I was using 10 lb nylon string, thinking there was no way my necklace/braclets weighed 10 lbs, well the string kept breaking.  Dont ask me why, I used all different beads, stone, glass, metal, all broke, some were very light weight, and did last longer, but in the long run still broke.  So I switched to a thin gauge wire, stopped breaking, but end of wire kept coming lose from crimp beads.  Yes I was sure to make sure crimp bead was as tightly crimped around wires, wire was flat not crossed.  So I switched to nylon coated 7 ply wire, thinking strength of wire, and the crimp bead has the nylon to catch on to, since I didn't have this issue of the crimp bead coming loose with the nylon string I was originally using.  Well guess what, I was wrong, it's coming loose again with the nylon coated wire.  I am at my wits end here, why are they coming loose and what can I do to stop this?  I was thinking of hitting it with some hot glue.  Would this help?
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Cobalt Cats Eye and 3 strands of pearls on: September 10, 2007 06:48:17 PM
Last but not least.....I love Cats Eye!  The Blue on these beads are sooooooooo intense, the pic doesn't come close to doing it justice.  On the pearls, they are white and light pink, but the pink is so light it's hard to tell the difference even to the naked eye.  Hope y'all like them.  THanks for looking.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Berriciated Jasper on: September 10, 2007 06:41:10 PM
Cant spell it, but love the stone.  Plus here's some other beaded jewelry.

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / White Howlite Set, Teal Pearl Choker, etc on: September 10, 2007 06:21:45 PM
Please forgive my photos, I use a scanner.  The first is White Howlite I love the pure white of this stone, and think the grey inclusions give it such character.

I made this design before, but it didn't fit.  So since I liked it so much I made it again only this time with teal pearls.

This is just a strung bead necklace, but I like the color combo.

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Red cracked and clear crystals with ruby seed beads on: July 13, 2007 04:32:45 PM
I like this, but the seed bead strand doesn't want to stay in place.  It wants to untwist and seperate grrrrrrrr.  ALso I think the Red rhinestone roundelles (I think thats what they're called) seem to get lost.  I may remake it and leave those out.  Hope ya'll like it.  Let me know what you think about the roundelles please.

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Clear cracked crystal bicones and seed bead necklace on: July 13, 2007 04:29:50 PM
This'll go with anything, so I like it.  But it's kinda plain... So I don't know how well I like it.  LOL I'm so picky when it comes to my own creations.  I'd love it if I'd bought it at the store. Roll Eyes

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Silver Pearl and crystal choker....Need advice on: July 12, 2007 07:01:28 PM
This is my first attempt at a multistrand necklace as well as a choker, and I LOVE it!!  But it doesn't hang right.  The bottom strand is perfect, but the other two hang loose so it kinda cups outward.  Should I take out like 2 beads on the middle stand and 4 on the top to bring it in?

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / A "drapped Layer" Candle (black) on: July 08, 2007 10:55:10 AM
This is my favorite technique when completed, but VERY time consuming to make.  So not really my favorite to make.

9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / tilted layer "mottled" candle on: July 08, 2007 10:52:49 AM
This was my 1st attempt at a mottle.  I haven't been able to achieve this level of even mottling since Cry lol.  But it's fun trying.

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Butterfly pendant and amethyst chip necklace on: July 08, 2007 10:48:21 AM
