1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Tea time! on: August 02, 2007 10:32:36 AM
So I taught myself how to needle felt a few weeks ago and though I don't have photos of my best creations, I thought I'd post some of the decent ones here.
These are my pieces for the ultimate tea party.

my best collection

second collection

petit fours

jelly cookies/linzer tarts

watercress finger sandwiches

a rainbow cookie (is this just a New York thing?)

raisin scone

disappointing strawberry (from the back)

comments and constructive criticism quite welcome!
2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: Larger than life felted heart. on: August 02, 2007 10:32:09 AM
I'm trying to come up with some really wonderful way to wear the heart that would be incredibly disturbing and wonderful.  A necklace?  A belt buckle?
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: decoupaged comp notebook on: August 02, 2007 10:30:12 AM
Frida is my favorite flower.  :-D
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Harry Potter craft palooza! (kinda picture heavy, sorry!) on: August 02, 2007 10:26:28 AM
I want to snuggle with the monster book of monsters... but I'm not sure that would be wise.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Harry Potter crafts- Luna accessories & knit bolero & Wands *new pics*pg 2 & on: August 02, 2007 10:25:14 AM
I've seen lots of Luna boleros in the past few weeks, but this is definitely my favorite.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Nintendo Perler Bead Pixel Magnets on: August 02, 2007 10:20:06 AM
Oh man!  I used to LOVE perler beads, I completely forgot they even existed until this moment.  What a brilliant idea to use them to make something that is suposed to look pixelated, instead of my always disappointing childhood perler bead ventures.
7  COOKING / Dessert / Re: We're off to see the wizard...on the Emerald City cake! on: August 02, 2007 10:17:12 AM
Too cute!  This looks like it was a blast to make.  I love that when you are decorating a cake, you have to really think like a little kid.. "How can I make a tower? What looks like a tower? Pretzels!"  Amazing.
8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Birthday cake for myself...because I share my birthday with Harry Potter. on: August 02, 2007 10:14:52 AM
What type of frosting did you use?  I'm really impressed that you can see the handle, because black-on-black doesn't normally come out well.

...but mostly, I just want to give little snapey a hug (and a shower?).
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Easy Peasy Snap wallets - I'm so addicted! on: August 02, 2007 10:09:13 AM
20 minutes?!?

Your speed is nearly as impressive as the cuteness.
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Phoenix tote on: August 02, 2007 10:06:47 AM
Not only is it beautiful, but also very fitting for "the end of Harry Potter."  That is certainly a happy-moving-on Phoenix.
