11  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: The Silence Plush on: October 02, 2012 08:11:30 AM
Thanks! The black eyes are felt circles, but the face is fleece that I hand-sewed the outer edges to the head, then stuffed a bit with polyfil through the eyes to give it a slightly raised look. Then I sewed the edges of the eyes to close it up.  Cheesy

So so so cool! Love him! You did an awsome job! Is his face made from felt? He's so neat!!!

He's made of mostly fleece, with felt eyes. Stuffed with both polyfil and poly beads so he stands up. And I shaded his face with markers I had on hand.

I've been absent from making things for awhile, but have been slowly getting back into the swing of things.  I in fact JUST THIS SECOND completed this guy.  Here is my The Silence Plush that is on his way to the Plush You 2012 Show at Schmancy in Seattle.  15 inches tall, 7 inches wide.  Cheesy  I better keep looking at him as I put him in the box otherwise I might forget!

My blog post about him is here at Suzannah Ashley.

Thanks Everybody!

Vader_the_White, Yeah, finding a matching color was one of the hardest things to do. I knew I wanted to use fleece, and they only had about 2-3 oranges. The other one  was SUPER BRIGHT FLORESCENT which wouldn't do at all.

Xbeautiful_disasterX Resin is a great idea as far as holding up and to get that clear effect. I was originally going to try and use the translucent polyclay but decided on just painting the model magic once it dried so it wouldn't be as heavy and sag down too much. He has little loops on his cuffs that you can slide the pop stick in and the model magic is light enough that it keeps up for the most part.

Thanks!
17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Distelfink Wedding Invitation on: February 14, 2012 07:48:59 PM
I designed these for my upcoming wedding. I took my distelfink drawing (which I've also carved into a stamp) and redid it in Illustrator then added our wedding colors Brown, Cream and Blush Pink. I really love my little distelfink so I'll probably be using him in a lot of projects until I get tired of him.

They are coming back from the printer this week (I'm very behind I know) and once I have the whole set with envelopes complete I'll take a picture of that as well.

I'm so jealous. I was really hoping to make my own wedding dress, but knew I wouldn't have the time ( I tend to put things off).  Yours looks gorgeous and I love that you showed all the hard work that you put into it. Cheesy

My sister loves the show Squidbillies. Several months ago I made her a plush of Early Cuyler, and she loved it. This time her husband and I conspired to make one of her other favorite characters, Deputy Denny.  I even made some felt accessories to go along with him, like his gun and spaceglasses.

Thanks so much everybody!  Yeah I was trying to make a simplified cute version of the pitbull type dogs to show off their cuteness factor.  <3 Now to try and do it with my cats and some of my friend's animals.  Cheesy
