1  Soul Eater Little Ogre Plush in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by SuzannahAshley on: February 13, 2014 09:05:18 PM
My friend asked me to make a plush of Little Ogre from Soul Eater as part of his cosplay for Katsucon. He wanted him to be able to sit or stand, so I looked at the BabyLondonStar sit/stand pattern, and drew out an adaptation of the body/leg portion. He also wanted his arms to be able to bend so they could go up to his face, so used wire in the arms, and didn't stuff them. This was my first time using any kind of wire, and making a humanish shaped body.  The plush doesn't totally stand up on its own, but for my first time trying that, I'm pleased.  I did cheat a little and hot glued his mask/eyes and mouth instead of sewing them.

3  The Silence Plush in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by SuzannahAshley on: September 24, 2012 03:05:43 PM
I've been absent from making things for awhile, but have been slowly getting back into the swing of things.  I in fact JUST THIS SECOND completed this guy.  Here is my The Silence Plush that is on his way to the Plush You 2012 Show at Schmancy in Seattle.  15 inches tall, 7 inches wide.  Cheesy  I better keep looking at him as I put him in the box otherwise I might forget!

My blog post about him is here at Suzannah Ashley.

4  Distelfink Wedding Invitation in Weddings and Bridal Showers by SuzannahAshley on: February 14, 2012 07:48:59 PM
I designed these for my upcoming wedding. I took my distelfink drawing (which I've also carved into a stamp) and redid it in Illustrator then added our wedding colors Brown, Cream and Blush Pink. I really love my little distelfink so I'll probably be using him in a lot of projects until I get tired of him.

They are coming back from the printer this week (I'm very behind I know) and once I have the whole set with envelopes complete I'll take a picture of that as well.

5  Deputy Deny from Squidbillies in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by SuzannahAshley on: January 02, 2012 10:25:08 AM
My sister loves the show Squidbillies. Several months ago I made her a plush of Early Cuyler, and she loved it. This time her husband and I conspired to make one of her other favorite characters, Deputy Denny.  I even made some felt accessories to go along with him, like his gun and spaceglasses.

6  Sam Plush - Trick R Treat in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by SuzannahAshley on: November 16, 2011 01:56:37 PM
Recently a friend requested 2 plush Sam's, from the Halloween movie, Trick R' Treat.  I watched the movie to get a feel for Sam, and while I loved the little creepy cute monster, I was very disappointed that there wasn't MORE Sam throughout the film. Oh well.  Anyway, this is my take on that creepily adorable Halloween Spirit/Guardian.  Cheesy

I even included his little butt flap!

Here's the pair of them together.

I'm super happy with how they turned out, and I LOVE working with sackcloth now.  its got that rustic feel/look, but is still softer than other similar fabrics, like burlap.  I can't wait to make more creepy little things from this stuff.  Cheesy

7  Re: One Tiny Book Rd 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by SuzannahAshley on: September 30, 2011 12:13:46 PM
FINALLY!  Pictures from my awesome book sent by the marvelous SpookyPooky! I cannot say how impressed I was with the quality of it. Its truly a piece of art and is in my office where my coworkers can oooh and ahh.  Warning: LOTS OF PICTURES!

First the Front. When I first saw this, I knew the rest was going to be awesome. That is a picture frame being used on the cover. SO CLEVER!

I think I would very much like to hug that man with a tophat, frown and owl perched on his arm.

And the beautiful back with a sweet message from the artist herself,

It was really such an amazing book.  I love all the little hand drawn poeple. I've been an admirer of her style forever, so to have so much of her cute drawings packed into such a pretty package is a super treat!  <3's

Back in July I was asked to participate by donating some items to Stubby Dog's Art Auction. Here's a sneak peak of a couple ornaments I'm making as part of my contribution.
