1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Mama always said... on: February 07, 2008 04:20:06 AM
Oh that's beautiful! Did you use a store bought pattern or did you create the pattern yourself? If it was a bought pattern can you tell me which one? All the store patterns for girls dresses always seem kinda cutesy and cheesy to me but this dress is gorgeous!

Thanks for the link. I'd never seen those before but the c'mon puppets are cute!

Is this something a novice sewer could create? I love this dress - I've been eyeing a similar but very expensive one in a shop.
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / monster doll on: January 08, 2008 11:53:02 AM
So I made a whole slew of these for all the kiddos in my life as Xmas gifts. I gave away my favorite - a little devil before taking a picture. I also made a chicken and cookie monster looking one but I don't have pics. They were fun and easy to make and so far I've heard that all the kiddos like 'em so I'm pretty proud of my first crafty gift endeavor. Just wanted to share! Thanks for looking!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas Challenge '07 on: October 26, 2007 04:34:01 AM
Well, in my family we just buy for the kids so that makes things easier. I also friends and neighbors but I think I'll just make "puppy chow" whch is this chocolate pb chex mix. In high school I always became the most popular girl at Xmas b/c that's what I made for friends. Anyways here goes my Xmas list:

DH: tattoo gift certificate and painting
DD: handmade dress (almost complete!), doll (not even started)
Niece: skirt
Nephew 1: felt monster doll
Nephew 2: what do you get an 8 yo?
Plus 8 more kids gifts for my friends' kids! OI!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Skirt with underskirt, how would you make this? on: September 11, 2007 09:42:25 AM
I recently did something similar, basing it off of a skirt my daughter already had. I encased the skirt in a separate waistband but that was b/c I messed up a bit and it was the easiest way to cover my faux pas. I also used elastic in the band.
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Camera Shirt *now with stencil* on: September 11, 2007 09:34:52 AM
Thanks for posting the stencil! I love this shirt and can't wait to make one for myself! (And maybe a matching onesie for my kiddo.)
