Meh - he's not that altered at all.  Just moved a few lines around.  I think the poppet genealogy is still very evident!  I definitely couldn't have pulled this out of my butt - would not have happened without ghilie's pattern to start with.

CAD= Computer Assisted Drafting.  AutoCAD is made by a company called Autodesk.  It's basically the standard 2-D and 3-D drafting program for engineering professionals.
It's not very user friendly (i.e. it is very dissimilar from all microsoft aps) - but I had the opportunity to learn this program in highschool/college, and put it to crafty use whenever possible  Wink

Kay, I'm glad the seam allowances are a hit.  AutoCAD does rock.  I find it's really easy to draft patterns because you can measure, mirror, and fix things with just a few clicks. Speaking of which, I modified the CAD drawing from the original pattern to make a racoon pattern.  So, here he is - Bruce the Racoon!

He's made of plain old dollar store felt and faux fur from Fabricland (regular $34.99 per meter on SALE for $10 per meter!).
Mods to the original pattern include: widening the face and the hips, shortening the legs, and adding fingers and toes.
I think this pattern would be suitable for a fox (in red or oranged coloured fabric) so that might be my next one.

Oh my gosh! I am LUSTING this! So cool.  This would be awesome for a bathing suit cover-up.

If it's easier, I can delete the seam allowances and re-send ghilie the pattern.  Sorry to complicate things!

Never too late to join. Check out the first page of the thread.

I'm working on a racoon lumberjack poppet and I'm so amped about it!
Whoot!  I have to find some red flannel to make him a plaid shirt.  MK, I'm definantly leaching inspiration from Fifi's skunk tail for the racoon!

where did you buy the box b4 you painted it??? i want to know because i got an idea!!!

I bought the box at a place called Millwork.  It's a small hardware store chain in southern Ontario - there's only 3 locations.  I looked at Michael's and they had smaller boxes there... If you can think of a place that sells unfinished wood furniture - check them out too.

I think I'll build my next ones!

Thanks everybody for your amazing compliments and support!
