1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Finished top and a question on: February 04, 2009 02:07:16 PM
I finished my 1st quilt top today. It's about 36"x36" which is a little small for a toddler so I want to add a border.
My question is would you go with a light or a dark color for the border?

It is made with half of Moda Jelly roll, essential dots collection

2  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 33 ENTRIES / Red Monster on: December 02, 2008 04:19:46 PM
A little back story:
My nephew (3) went to work with his Daddy, he was then left alone in Daddy's office for less than 5 min. He managed to find a red permanent marker and colored every bit of exposed skin (face, arms, hands), when asked why he did that, he answered: "I wanted to be the red monster).
So for his birthday, I decided he needed his very own red monster.

I already had every thing to make it.

What do you think?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my 1st garnments, YEAH ME!!!!!!!!!! on: May 26, 2008 05:25:35 PM
So, it is my 1st post on this board.
I got a sewing machine for christmas, I didn't get the chance to really use it until recently.
Last week-end I made a dress using a vintage pattern (late 60s) and this week-end I made long shorts using a pattern for pants and just cropping them.
Please forgive my uncombed hair and messy house.

I actually got married in it on Saturday. We just went to the courthouse with one witness but we are planning a bigger wedding for next spring (i'll make my dress fr that one too)
Wedding pic is here

I'd like to put an invisible zipper on the side of a skirt. Npw, I have neverr put in a zipper of any kind. Do i need a special foot for the invisible zipper or does the regular zipper foot suffice? would it be easier to hand-sew it?
Any help will be greatly apprecieted.

So, I started the hemlock ring blanket back in october but i lost interest in it. Yesterday, I was cleaning up and decided i needed to do something about it, so it became a hat.

please excuse the yellow gown and hospital room but it has become my 2nd home since my bf's been diagnosed with leukemia.

I will probably never wear this hat, if it strikes your fancy, i'll personal swap you for it.
