Actually, I've been told that I'm crazy too many times to count
But its always fun, haha. The only pieces i could have machine-sewn really were the hem lines, but i just decided to do the whole sha-bang by hand. It was definatly worth all the insanely painful hand-cramps, mulitple finger-stabbings, and strained eyes!
-There are 7 undergarments (Chemise, drawers, corset, stockings, hip roll, hoop skirt, and petticoat), then the actual gown has 4 parts (Bodice, bow, underskirt (with the lace, plaid and red flounce layers), and overskirt)
-The underskirt, by itself, weighs a good 10 lbs!!!
-The red flounce is actuelly made from a bedsheet that I cut into 4 sections length-wise, hemmed, gathered, and sewed onto the underskirt. The lace flounce was a 4-panel set of old curtains!
-Each flower set on the lace flounce has 3 deep red roses and a bow of either white, red or chocolate brown ribbon tied to it- there are 37 bunches in all!!
Thank you all for the compliments! I really appreciate it ^_^
