I want to use the above cable for a hat, but I'm wondering if Vogue made a typo on the 7-st RPC.  Shouldn't it be sl *4 st to cn?  I've been knitting a while, but cables still confuse me at times.

I love the book Hip Hats & Cool Caps but I vowed not to buy any new yarn until I got rid of what I already had.  So, I had a single ball of this 100% wool that was closest to worsted, but had different weights.  This is the result of what should have been the Soldier hat:



I kinda like it, but after I added the brim, I realized that I should just use a different yarn because it was more of a glorified beanie.



O well.  It will probably be frogged and turned into a Pithy hat (o so typical) but I just wanted to share.

So, I finally have cleared out a good portion of my UFOs and I have an pattern from and old issue of Interweave Crochet that calls for Gedifra Fashion Trend Fino Stripe.  That is the "Citrine Skirt" from Fall 2006, I think.  The problem is that the yarn is discontinued and I can't seem to find a good replacement with the same beautiful change in color.  Any suggestions?

Anyone game?

So, these are my first completed crochet projects.  It all started with the birthday present from my boyfriend... I finally got an iPod.



This led to him pointing out that I promised a knit DS case over a month ago.  So, in stash busting, the DS case was born.



Of course, when babysitting the little girl you taught to knit, who just happens to have a case-less pink Nintendo DS Lite, I had to make one last little pink cozy.  I got the Lucite button from my great aunt's stash when she passed, so it was a more personal touch.



The pink yarn and the multi used for the iPod were picked up at a stash busting swap in Brooklyn months ago.  If anyone can tell me what they are, that would be awesome!

So, have I done the hookers proud?
