Happy Friday Everyone!! beautiful yarns this week!!
here's what I've been working on
I spun the 2 pink batts from my Feb Happy Hooves.. bulky thick and thin, with 4 repeating stripes. I went the flower route, and plied with red colorchanging thread and pink, white and red silk flowers.. 100 yards, Love me Tender
I have a fun supercoil yarn, spun from my Nov Traveling Rhino batts Neon Signs, 16 yards
And another one in my LOST! series.. Flashes in Time, 92 yards(from this week's episode.. we see our losties in the jungle.. lots of greens and blues.. but ever time they flash in time the sky turns a purpley yellow.. and we saw our friend smokey the monster.. so there's bits of black swirling about.) Spun thick and thin, plied with black rayon thread
Rustic,110 yards of yummy bfl/angora from EGMTK spun as a bulky low twist single, slightly thick and thin
Fireworks, from my "in motion' batts.. merino and silk noil (and angelina)
Heirlooms, repeat striping, spun thick and thin- added green sari silk for the "vines"- plied with invisible thread and 3 felt tomato tops
My second in my LOST! series.. these are 2 skeins that are meant to be worked together. one skein more olive/khaki/cream with purple sparkle and kid mohair locks, one more sea green/khaki/cream with purple sparkle and kid mohair locks Desmond and Penny-
Spiced- wool top with slubby wool and glitz
Candy Hearts- baby alpaca spun sport to worsted weight
Love Child of Cookie Monster and Grover fuzzy corespun merinox locks and corridale fleece, with butterfly blue and opal angelinas
Play Doh Optim/Seacell, spun sport to worsted weight
Lovers, Shetland lamb locks and angelina (vintage hollyeqq fbiers)
I haven't posted in a few weeks.. I've been doing more carding than spinning.. Here's some new stuff I finished
This one is my most favorite.. I took big handfuls from all my HollyEQQ fiber, and added that to the "batty babe bags" i have from her.. which is bits of her fiber stash- and put all that in a 10 gallon ziploc. I then jumbled it all up and dumped it on the floor and just started spinning. There's LOTS of stuff in this yarn.. felted llama locks, suri alpaca locks, uncarded corridale, uncarded merino, cotswold lamb, kid mohair locks, banana silk, sari silk, glitz.. I even cut up a colorful silk scarf and spun that in. I then plied the SUPER BULKY single with black rayon thread. It's 2-3 wraps per inch... really bulky. I had to hand wind the entire 2 bobbins (36 yards filled TWO bobbins!!!) It's in the Bag- 36 yards
LOST! is my most favorite show on TV and I'm SOOO happy it's back on!! For the premier I spun a LOST! yarn. It's corespun mini batts, 2 skeins total. Lots of blues and greens.. the colors on the island.. but with pops of colors and sparkles.. from hatches and beach camps, polar bears and freighters. There's some black swirling thru.. for the smoke monster is always hiding around the corner.. and twice in each skein there are small sections of black bamboo- where the smoke monster actually shows himself.. I just LOVE how this turned out!! LOST! 108 yards total between 2 skeins, corespun on cotton crochet thread
I spun a VERY RARE 2ply. I just never spin 2plies.. but this one had to be spun!! The fiber is from exclusivelylindalee.etsy. One ply is bfl, in her "winter morn" colorway (which is pinks and plums.. some light grey and ivory) and then the second ply is bamboo in her "syrah" colorway (which is darker pinks, plums, grey and ivory) Plied together it looks so YUMMY!! Bessame Mucho, 164 yards (2 skeins, 8 oz total)
this is 8oz of some Zen String bamboo I have been hoarding in her "delight" colorway. I added butterfly blue, chocolate, blue opal and light purple angelina
Happy New Year everyone!! I've been on a corespinning kick.. and a mohair kick.. so combined that's lots of fun!! LOL!! I haven't posted in a bunch of weeks.. so here's some of what I've been working on..
This is one of my fave yarns!! It's uncarded merino and mohair, dyed in the same pot.. with angelina for sparkle.. I corespun it, sections of merino, then mohair.. merino and mohair.. so it will stripe fibers.. but since it was dyed in the same pot.. the colors will be the same throughout. Storms Brewing, 34 yards (4 oz)
This is a corespun Loop batt, I let an irridecent filament thread wrap around the outside.. Sweetheart Roses, 126 yards
This is roving balls from Yarnzombie (Lufah) that I corespun! I love them!! When the Circus Comes to Town, 174 yards

I did a really fun trade with Deb's Fiber Arts.. she sent me an amazing felting, I spun some yarns for her from stuff she also sent me.. fiber, fabric and locks, a silk cap (I made cocoons), sari silk, yarn snippets and banana silk. All are corespun....
Daniella I just LOVE Chaos!!!! All are beautiful, but that's my fave!! I have to spin my willy nilly batts now!! I carded up your meadow batts.. I'll PM you on etsy..
I've been crazy these past few weeks with stuff going on here.. DH getting laid off and trying to find a job and my spinning/carding has slipped into my real jobs #2 and 3 rather than just fun "hobby" jobs.. So here's some of the stuff I've been working on

Corespun assorted fibers
Corespun assorted fibers
Twilight, romney lamb locks and sparkle I carded
YAY for the holidays!! I hope everyone has a good one!!
I also find my corespun to be very soft and fluffy.. not stiff and unflexiable at all.. maybe you are putting to much twist into the core? I find corespun to be a bit warmer, since I trap air in with the fibers.. it's also very strong, since I use a strong cotton crochet thread (usually) for my core..
I really think it depends on the look you are going for.. a single will twist at an angle.. so if you have multi colors, it will be a barber pole swirl..
a corespun has fiber wrapped around the core at a 60-90 degree angle.. so the look is definitly different..
I don't have much time today.. but I haven't posted in a couple of weeks.. so here goes.. most of the pics were set before the twist was set, and since the twist is still setting on a bunch of stuff, I don't have many details, just the pics.. but I'll add details later to my flickr page if you want to know them
Roses, corespun from a Loop batt
Autumn Colors, from mini batts by FeltStudioUK and Wooly Treasures
Subtly Crazy, Batts I carded from fiber left from previous carding sessions ("treasure" fiber) and handfuls of super soft grey suri alpaca.. fun color and texture.. but more subtle because of the consistant alpaca... which makes it super soft too!!
Mish Mash, supercoils from my carded batts
Goldfish Pond, wrapped with metallic thread, then plied with metallic thread
WaterLilles, batts by FeltStudioUK
SeaWeed, plied with glass beads, fiber from ArtClub monthly batt, summer storms

I also did a lot of carding this past couple weeks..
I tailspun these lincoln locks.. so fun!! I just love the curlies Holiday- 46 yards
I really love this set.. It's from 2 monthly artclub batts.. I'm calling it "the shades of being a girl" because we all have our "soft" side -which we are most of the time, which is why it's the larger skien, and then we have our "rocker" side.. that pokes it's head out once and awhile.. so the skien is a bit smaller.. It's 93 yards total for the set.. the soft side is spun with white irridecent sequins, pink icicle and firestar and plied with irridecent green thread and sparkley white pom poms, the rocker side is spun with fuscia and onyx angelinas and pink sequins- plied with fusica holosparkle lurex thread and 4 colors of pink sparkley pom poms
Snow Covered Mistletoe, 49 yards- spun from one of my Snow covered mistletoe, art yarn kits.. merino/tencel, bamboo, merino, sequins, sparkley pom poms, ribbon, rick rack, all candystriped with gold metallic thread
Autumn Camping, 76 yards merino, sparkle, ecospun--- striping.. with the brown/blue, then the autumn tones.. like the days and nights of beautiful autumn camping..
Rose Garden, 175 yards Bamboo, candystriped with silver thread and 34 faceted swarvowski crystals
Autumn Sunset- 77 yards 2 ply, one organic pima cotton and one tencel.. I love how the matte and shiny plies look so good together..

I also carded up a bunch of batts this week.. Pumpkin Pie 3.2 oz merino, corriedale, bamboo, tencel and angelina.. I did these batts in 2 steps.. first I carded the 3 shades of orange merino and topaz bamboo, and 2 shades of angelina.. then I took that batt off the carder (split it in half.. for 2 batts) then I put down a layer of supersoft corridale (for the "crust") Then I carded down a layer of the orange batt, so it carded again.. becoming more blended in colors.. which was the "pumpkin" layer, then I carded white tencel onto the edges.. because no pie is complete without "whipped cream"
