Actually, I can't take credit for the actual how-to, even though I'd like to.  I've had the idea to do one for years now and never knew how to do it.  I found the instructions on Craftbits.com.

I made this out of an apple.  It's also my first attempt at one and it was amazingly simple.  I'm making four more and I'm thinking of making them into a wreath for Halloween.

I used an 8 or 5mm.  I have no idea what size the yarn was, it was from a couple small balls that I have in a gigantic bag of yarn that I have.

Your welcome.  None of mine are round.  It still looks good even though they're not.  And like I said, good luck with the pattern.  You'll most likely need to do a little 'tweeking' to it to get it to work with you door knobs.  Thank you again.
