For as long as I had it no.  I gave it to my father in law and from the times I've been over there, it hasn't smelled.
283  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / This was a really pretty dress now, it's a really cute bag! on: September 21, 2007 11:35:11 AM
What you need to make this bag:
-Five neighbors walking by the door asking, 'What are you making now?'
-One horribly bent sewing machine needle
-One peanutbutter bar (Nutter-Butter bar)
-One sleeping two year old
-One phone call from the husband while he's on break at work
-Four phone calls from the father in law on how to spell things
-One phone call from the father in law about a football players name
-One phone call from a sister in law wanting a purse too
-One phone call from the sister in law panacking about the vaccines her daughter just got and why her leg's a little swollen.
-Three instant messeges
-One neighbor asking when you're going to finally bake again
-Twenty minutes to try to remember how to line a purse
-One run away bobbin
-And one conversation between the apartmanager and the people upstairs to evesdrop on because they're right ouside your door (which is open by the way).

Oh, and a dress, some purple material that's been lying around for three years and a broken scrunchie.  And thread.

This dress was in a huge bag of clothes my sister in law gave me:

Really cute, right?  Fit funny.

2 hours later:

That little pinch in the side will be fixed when I get a new needle.

The 'button' which used to be one of those hair bauble things.

The top of the loop that had to be hand-stitched because of the bent machine needle.

The lining and what used to be the back of the dress.

287  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Turn plain glass balls into fast/easy ornaments on: September 09, 2007 06:03:47 PM
I had the same idea two years ago, for my daughters first Christmas.  I printed out a few pictures of her, bought some white glitter, a garland string with really small holly leaves and clear red seed beads.  I rolled up her picture and slipped it inside.  I had to use some cutical cutters and nail cleaners (the only things that I had that would fit) to move it around then poured the white glitter (for snow) a few holly leaves (that I had cut off the garland) and a few beads (for holly berries).  I gave these to all the adults in the family and everyone loves them and was very impressed.  I used a matching ribbon to hang it.

Oh my freaking god!  I love that, they beat my door knob cover by a long shot!  Did you make them out of clay and paint or something?
