1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Crochet purse from black (liquor store) bags on: September 26, 2007 09:12:56 AM

This purse needs to go into three different categories; Recycled, Purses and Crotched.
The "Shell" is crotched, from discarded black (liquor store) bags. I don't go to the corner convenient stores enough so I had to ask my friends for a little help. I added a pink bag I found near a mall blowing in the wind. The white is from a Hardware store.
The lining is a remnant of my pajama leg. I cut the legs to give them a Capri look and used the scrap as the lining. I added a magnet snap to close it. I also hot glued the lining.

I really had fun with this purse.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / market bag made from plastic grocery bags on: September 24, 2007 09:41:10 AM
My market bag made from plastic grocery bags . It took about 65 bags to make this bag.It is not lined, but can hold a lot of stuff... I am working on one bag made from black bags (the kind one can get from liquor stores) and line it with a piece of pajama leg. It will totally be recycled.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Bun bag (w/ story behind it) on: September 21, 2007 03:40:20 PM
I made this bun holder for my (step) granddaughter. She is not allowed to have hair color that is not "natural" at school. The coloring was a gift from her mom and the young teen really wanted it. We couldn't stand to see her waste $40 in hair dye. It will fade out eventually but until then she can enjoy her controlled rebellion at home... She is a good kid, not a trouble maker, she is in honors classes and loves animals Her hair  was a beautiful turquoise color.

I put skulls beads on the end of the ribbon. This is actually her second one. She lost the first one at school while rushing to class, as a result she received in school suspension.  Undecided

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet market bag from plastic bags on: September 20, 2007 12:21:07 PM

... of course we have all these plastic bags around the house or kitchen. I knew they can be crotched into bags. So I went online and did a search. I found a site that explained easily how to link the bags together and I used that idea to create my own market bag out of plastic bags... I love it... unfortunately a girl scout made off with it. She thought it was cool too.
This is the site I looked at; http://www.geocities.com/quibblerscribbler/Recycled_plastic_bag.html

9/22/07 The Girl Scout has returned the bag!!!!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crochet cinnamon roll on: July 05, 2007 12:35:31 PM
Tongue I made a toilet paper cover to look like a cinnamon roll. I started with two colors; cream and brown. Then I kept the cream as the dominant color and added the brown as need to create the swirl.
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Peas and carrot on: July 05, 2007 12:07:26 PM
I crocheted peas in a pod and a carrot for a vegetarian baby. Maybe later I will add eyes
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crochet coffee mug on: July 05, 2007 11:40:40 AM
Crochet toilet paper cover that looks like a cup of coffee. I made this for my dad for fathers day.

I started with brown yarn crotched a 4 inch circle and then crochet the rest of the mug (cylinder) until it covered a roll of toilet paper.
The handle is crochet separate and sown on with matching yarn.
