12  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Fimo Wedding Couple on: August 29, 2007 02:53:42 AM
I also designed a wedding couple ... actually supposed to be a gift ... but when it was finished I wasnt able to be seperated from them  Roll Eyes

I used fimo soft here.
The hair is done the same way as I had described it at the mermaid topic.
For the brides dress I used a polystyrene foam ball and just laid a plate of white fimo above it. While heating in the oven the foam ball will shrink just after the fimo skirt becomes hard enough to hold everything up on its own. This maybe stinks a little bit, but opening the door helped very well!

13  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Fimo BAND on: July 09, 2007 11:21:09 AM
Hello again!

As a Bryan Adams fan I tried to model him and his band members - Mickey Curry (drums) and Keith Scott (guitar). After baking I used the firnish for fimo.
Who can say hes got his fav band as miniatures on the cupboard? Wink :

14  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Fimo ELEPHANT on: July 08, 2007 10:48:13 AM

My first work actually was a three-faced elephant I discovered on the internet, which I put into a snowball ... to look at it from all three sides!
I used a finished snowball by @eberhard-faber here.

For the bottom I made a round plate of green fimo that fitted in very well, but spared out the opening of the water vulve to fill in the water in the end and finally placed little stones and gras on it. Then I fixed everything with an extra strong glue ... even the snowballs globe.
At last I filled in destilated water ... Id rather mix it up with a "keep the water clean substance" now ( I unfortunately didnt ... not so nice after a little while) ... so dont save money here! I also used extra snowball snow and a lot of glitter!!!

Hope I gave you some inspiration!

Hi everyone!

Im new here, because I was looking for a Clay Super Mario (fabulous work actually!).
While looking around this forum I discovered such great artistic works - wonderful place to  share crafts!

Now I want to share my stuff with you. I started out modelling with fimo one year ago (we dont have all the different kinds of clay here in Austria).

I have to say I dont work with wire and that I normally paint a little shimmer on the eyes or paint them even completely.
If someone wonderes how I do the curled hair I can tell you that you can do that too!
Its NOT very complicated. Its just important that you fix the curles on the unbaked head (after baking it wont stick to it anymore).
1. Roll a little piece of clay between your hands into a "string" ( not to thin - looks much better and youll be done faster!)
2. Then hold one end between your thumb and index finger and use the other hand to spin it around itself making spirals.
When the "spinning" is done, put it onto the center of the tophead.
Then put one layer above the other while getting shorter and using different colours.

So I created this cute mermaid for a colleague. This was actually done within less than two hours ... but always gains most of the attention Roll Eyes

I hope youll enjoy!  Cheesy
