Christmas is coming closer ... and this is the first of the three wise men arriving!

I´ve already finished this one last year. Unfortunately this is still the only one.


I made this of fimo soft mixing up a lot of colors.
The red cloak was made of a mixture of the shades -24 and -26 ... this is a very nice blood red - not too dark and not to light.




Underneath I did craft the actual body using normal red. This way Melchior looks chubbier and funnier - just cute! I saw this at some figures you could buy.


The crown was made of a simple flat piece with spikes put together.






I was never really happy with the actual shade of fimo soft gold. So this time I tried something new.
There is some gold powder available that you can mix up with varnish. Then I covered the already baked figure with this and I was really surprised. This looks like real gold to me! I´m still so happy with it and I can really recommend this to you!


I didn´t really have any idea how to make him look like he´s bringing gold. So I sculpt some coins and a necklace. I am not so glad I did sculpt the necklace. What do you think of it? Do you guys have any other ideas?

This is my latest project. I had been having this on my mind for a couple of months.

So two weeks ago I sat down for a few hours ... and this is the result:





How to accomplish these shades of colors similar to the painted colors used in the book gave me some thought.
This is how I did it:

I used about 5-6 different shades of green. I only mixed up fimo soft colors like this:

- light green with a lot of yellow and transparent
- middle green with a lot of yellow

- dark green with yellow and transparent (as it is too dark for me, especially after baking   )

- the new fimo soft ´aqua´ with transparent, a tiny little bit of yellow, -08 metallic perlmutt and metallic silver


 
For the red head I mixed up fimo soft shades -24 and -26 ... that makes a very nice red shade.

The tale got a little too long ... one segment less would have also worked.


At last I added the three shaped feet in normal chocolate brown.

Within the last couple of weeks I made these sweets. It was my first attempt ... never tried this before.  ... and I must say this is not as easy as it looks.



To achieve the right proportions and color is tricky ... even though mine have realistic sizes - not miniature sizes.
I spent most of the time kneading white fimo and mixing it with a tiny little bit of color, because pastel colors by fimo had just come up.

I was pretty surprised how difficult it is to make a lolly 

But the result is still cool to look at!

Hello again,  

I never was really happy with the baby jesus I made ... just because it was Christmas ... still no baby Jesus ... and I hurried - unfortunately.

So, this year, I took my time and changed the colors. (yellow and blue aren´t a good match)



Instead of laying a twisted piece of aluminum foil underneath I stabilized it with massive role of brown fimo ... choose whatever is left - nobody will see it.




Then I formed several plates of fimo ... using sunlike yellow, some yellow mixed with white, some yellow mixed with a tiny little bit of brown.

Cut the edge into stripes - and the whole plate into halfes, thirdes, ... place them on the ring and work your way up.


I like this crib much better, because it presents Baby Jesus so much better. Before it was so flat and tiny.



I like the big feet !  
But be careful with using color ... look at these eyelashes ... brown works much better here ! (unfortunately I´ll always see it)

Oh, and it got eyebrows

Hi everybody!





I made this as a christmas present for a very dear friend of mine.

It´s supposed to be some carol singers.
In german they´re called Sternsinger. Children dressed up as the three wise men walk from door to door to sing carols and so collect money for several projects.





These figures are pretty easy to make. Just the big star underneath was a little tricky. So maybe I could inspire you!

Easter is so close that I had to make these easter bunnies.

It´s an interpretation of what I once spotted on the internet. I loved them!





This brown one is set in a 7 cm wide pot ... much too wide !!!  Take a 4 or 5 cm wide one.

Hi everyone!

Years ago I saw this elefant on the web and decided to make this one my first clay project ever.



I therefore used firnish. Unfortunately !
Weeks later I found a snowglobe and put it into it; not knowing that the firnish would decomposite.
I also didn´t use something for water preservation. Within years I could watch the strings of bacteria move around. Yummy!!!


Now I started all over.

I added a new ground plate, which looks like this:




I put the hot glue next to the ground plate - not on the snowglobe cover!

At last I filled in destillated water mixed up with a professional water preservation liquid by using a jab.
Mix the snow with a little portion of a cleaning product and finished!

Hi!

I´ve seem this clay mummy on the net and knew, I needed one for halloween!
The only thing I don´t like about it, is the sign´s font. Maybe I´ll renew it.
