691  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: My monster bag! on: June 30, 2007 09:52:12 AM
I love it.  The mouth really is adorable!  And the arms going up for a handle is great.  Hmmm... now if I can just get fur to go through my machine...

I want the bag and the statue.  It looks great!  Reversible rocks- two bags in one!

I melt many things with my iron... I never thought to do it on purpose! Grin  How about that plastic lacing used to make knotted keychains?  You could knot a long length or just bunch a few strands together and slide some pony beads onto them.

Finally something cute to do with all the coke can tabs my kids pull off and throw on the floor!  Good job.  BTW it's "coke" in Florida, too.

I love it!  I can't seem to get zippers yet, and I think my mom is getting tired of putting them in for me.  I've only been sewing off and on for about 15 years! One day...

What was the material when you started? Plastic, leather?  I love it!
697  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Steve Burns Rocks! on: June 30, 2007 09:10:28 AM
I am soo excited!  I thought I was the only one with a handbag obsession!  This is my first post (of many I hope!)  I also have an obsession with Steve Burns (formerly Blue's Clues hottie, now Rock Godlet).  I used two old Blues Clues shirts to make myself a tribute handbag.  It's reversible!!!  The black fabric I had to make with iron on transfers that I made on the old inkjet.  A lot of cutting and ironing!  I may change out the handles- my local JoAnn's was slim on selection that day.  I LOVE IT!!!  Tell me what you think.

Sorry about the lumpiness, it's my first time working with a knit.  I probably should have used a stiffer interfacing to hold it better.
