This is the first dress I've ever made - although I had lots of help from my mom. I think it turned out quite well

Again, ignore the hair It was air-drying.
I used New Look 6699. It was a pretty good pattern, but called for WAY more fabric than was needed. I ended up shortening the skirt by at least a foot (I'm short ). The straps were also way too long, and I think they look kinda weird in this position. And the loop around the rouching (is that even the right word?) kept moving to the sides so I got fed-up and sewed it into place. It looks kinda strange that way, but at least it's not constantly moving around.
