1  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Simplicity #7161 (Sewing for Dummies) Bag E on: July 20, 2008 08:45:00 AM
I just received a sewing machine earlier this year, so for my first ever sewing project I decided to try a Sewing for Dummies pattern. I don't know if it was just me or not, but after step 2, I was confused and frustrated because I had no idea what to do. I finished most of the bag the way I interpreted the instructions, and was having trouble sewing the bottom of the bag on. My neighbor sews a lot, so I brought it to her and I asked for help sewing the bottom on. It turned out that I had done the whole thing wrong, so I had to rip out all of the stitches and start over again. I would NOT recommend this pattern to beginners at all, for this instructions are hard to understand. I did turn out to be a really cute bag though, one it was done right.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / magazine clutch on: February 29, 2008 03:20:24 PM
so...inspired by polkadotbug09, i made my own magazine clutch. It isn't lined, and i used packaging tape to "laminate" it, but i still like it.

Soo...i wasn't sure where to put this, but my mom and I (mainly my mom) latch-hooked a rug from plastic bags!! It is unbelievably soft, and sticks to your feet sometimes, and I think it is cute!

Props to the people whose website I originally saw an image of a latch hooked plastic  bag on!!! If anyone knows of this website, please post it! I have tried to find it since I got the idea from them, but have not been able to. Thanks!

Yay!! First finished christmas present! my sister still uses a Game boy advance, so i decided to knit a cozy for it. i still have to make the right side look a little neater, but overall i think it turned out well.

-from the front-ish
-from the back
-from the front without gameboy, shows the colors well.

i hope the pictures work!! Huh this my first real post, and i don't get the whole posting pictures thing... (how to, that is Wink) btw, the whole thing isn't lopsided, it just looks that way in the picture.

if they don't work, the pics are here

7  KNITTING / Knitalongs / cell phone/ iPod cozy knitalong on: June 30, 2007 06:34:13 AM
I just learned how to knit, so my mom suggested that I make a case for my sister's iPod nano. I found this pattern off of google, and it looks pretty simple, even though it is for a cell phone, it is still big enough to fit an iPod nano. Anyone else want to knit one?
