2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / anyone know how to make this? on: August 27, 2010 09:00:03 AM
Eh, I feel so dumb for having to ask this.  BUT!  Does anyone know either how to make these or what they're called...or know a good tutorial.  They seem easy enough.

5  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 05/11/10 - We have 200,000 members! on: May 12, 2010 12:33:20 AM
Woo!!!!!!  Congratulations!!  This is so exciting!  When I first joined craftster, the only crafts I knew were cross stitching and scrapbooking.  I always wanted to be one of those crafty people, but I didn't know where to begin.  However thanks to all of the wonderful members and moderators, I now sew, mod podge, cross stitch, embroider, design my own jewelry, scrapbook, origami my butt off, and tons of general crafting.  I don't post my projects much Sad but I mostly love talking to everyone here.  I love you guys!  Thank you so much for everything.

Hey guys I have a question for you.  Do you think this pattern: http://www.simplicity.com/p-2317-misses-special-occasion-dresses.aspx
could be sewn in eyelet?  I wouldn't do the lace overlay if I did it in eyelet.

Oh my goodness, we had a chair just like that when I was a kid!!  The brown scratchy fabric was on the seat part and it was oh so ugly even before or cat got to it!  Good job!

Well the good thing is that you budgeted for a dress, so whether she likes it or not you can get what you want, because she can hardly buy you a dress and force you into it. If you don't belong to the Offbeat Bride Tribe you should, because there is alot of discussion about this very topic.

I hope you find the dress you want, and stand your ground! If it makes her feel better offer to go and help her find a poofy dress for her to wear for her next birthday.

Hee hee  According to my mom, she doesn't have birthdays and when asked her age she says "over 25"!  She has sent me some dresses in my email.  Think 1990's Soap Opera Wedding.  Mmmmmmm, ruffles and puffy sleeves....lovely.  Yeah, I've decided to just get the dress and tell her about after.  I will say that there was a sale or something.  It's mean, but I think once she sees that I'm happy, then she will lay off.  If she doesn't lay off then...well, I don't know.  We'll have to wait and see.

What is the Offbeat Bride Tribe?
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Baby wipes aren't just for babies! :-) on: November 09, 2009 10:30:35 AM
Ok, seriously, I never knew how awesome baby wipes were until I had a baby.  But they're crazy awesome.  There were some stains in or carpet at the last place we lived.  A rug cleaner wouldn't take them out, a rug shampooer wouldn't take them out, a sponge with soap on it wouldn't take them out.  Then, one day I was messing around with the baby and I randomly decided to try the baby wipe and it actually took the stain off!!  They are the most awesome thing ever!  I never thought about using it on my face or...ummmm....my va-jay-jay!!  Which, actually this is a great time to read this thread, because I'm out of facial soap.  Hmmmm.....must give the wipes a try.
