11  Re: ACTIVE: Granny-A-Day crochet-along for April - start 04/01/10 in Crochetalongs by OnePinkHippo on: April 11, 2010 06:43:28 PM
It's just a bit of fabric glue dabbed on to secure the end. I have some Granny's Daughters (received in a swap) that were done this way. They haven't gone through the wash, but I was assured that they would hold Wink
Or the crocheting over technique, combined with weaving in the ends. I love that technique.

In response to the homespun yarn....Give it away!!!
I have friends who love it...??  Go figure.
I got some as a gift w/book for crocheted socks...and three skeins of homespun.
Not a good combo!
My mom likes Homespun; she usually uses size 10s. I'm making a capelet out of it, because it's so cozy when knit up but it crinkles up when I knit and I have to pull it out every few rows. Weird slinky yarn. I hate crocheting with it, and not being able to see the stitches.

Week 2 squares! I'm 4 squares away from having all the squares for Inga's thing. And the two coral in the bottom right corner are maybe for a scarf or pillow, not sure yet.

Wee, Gothic Square!

Those last few rounds make it look a tad wonky.  Roll Eyes Hopefully it'll straighten out once it's all sewn together.

16  Re: 2010 12" Squares CAL- January in Crochetalongs by OnePinkHippo on: January 26, 2010 11:27:54 AM
For 6" and 12" I've used this assembly diagram. I did THIS pattern (where the diagram comes from) for my Daddy, using the grannies. For the 2010 I'm doing a mix of designs, but still using this diagram.

Love it craftADDchick. So jealous of your collection of CSS Brites.

Willow! Only took like an hour.

CSS in White, Lion Brand's Pound of Love in Lavender, and Red Heart's Soft Baby Multi in Rocking Horse. Somehow this one came out bigger so I left off the last round.  Roll Eyes

19  Re: Turtle-Along, anyone? in Crochetalongs by OnePinkHippo on: January 06, 2010 07:57:13 AM
I made one for my cousin for Christmas but I think it came out too weird, so I'm going to make her something else. Or you think he's good enough to send? My mom just looks at him and laughs out loud, haha.  Embarrassed

And something's wrong with his schnozz.  Sad

Wee, I [finally] received! (Stupid snow.  Angry) Thanks so much crafty gurll! I love everything!  Kiss

First I was greeted by the cutest lil tins ever:

Awh!

The whole yummeh loot:

Edibles!

Yummeh chocolate chip cookies (that were delish even though they were cold from sitting outside) and chocolate teddy bear lollipops! And there were other reindeer candies and lil green snowflake ones, too. YUMMEH.

Crafty fun:

Vegan GREAT smelling soap and cute drink markers that I'll probably use as stitch markers (they're so pretty!) on top of some of the awesome serving dishes:

SO GORGEOUS. And I they're food/dishwasher/microwave safe. Wink

Closeup of the embossed leaf:

I can't wait to use these tomorrow to be all Homemaker-y and serve gingerbread cookies.

Thanks so much, I love everything!

And thanks llisaredd for an awesome swap!  Grin
