1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Adding inches to a pattern? on: August 08, 2007 04:28:10 PM
Okay, I'm making a hat...
I want to add another set of the pattern to it.
Example: let's say it's -*purl 1 (knit 1, purl 1) three times, knit 3; repeat from * to end of round.- (this is from the Pithy Hat, by the way)
If I wanted to add an inch or...whatever...of this set of stitches...How would I know how many stitches to add to my casting on?

Does this make any sense? hehe. How can I add stitches without messing up the stitch count/pattern so everything comes out correctly?

I was just going to go up a size in needles, but I don't have the next couple sizes up, so I was going to try adding stitches, but I don't know how this would work.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Simple Beret Patterns? on: July 12, 2007 01:08:03 PM
Okay, these seem simple enough to make, but I can only seem to find patterns for berets that are...weird or the traditional type.
I saw these hats today and I was wondering if anyone knew any patterns similar to these.
I'm sure they're pretty simple to knit up, but I can never seem to find one that looks plain like this:

Do you guys have a favorite pattern?

also, i'm a fan of this, although it's not simple looking, it'd be cool to try.
