When I was in school I wrote him a letter and he actually wrote back! (yes, it was him writing, If anyone thinks otherwise I will cry)

How terrific and meaningful that you have a personal letter from him! His foundation still writes back to people who write him.  My 3 year old son sent in a drawing and Mr. McFeely (David Newall now PR director for Mr. Rogers foundation) wrote him a letter praising his efforts and also sent an autographed picture.  Mr. McFeely also called(!) him for his birthday. (That was my son's birthday wish to talk to Mr. McFeely and have a speedy delivery bag.)  Mister Roger's heroic efforts continue.

Mister Rogers would be proud of you! This is awesome. You did a wonderful job. His face looks just like him.  Great job!
I adored Mister Rogers as a kid (all those hand-knit sweaters inspired me to learn to knit.) My kids adore him (and Mr. McFeely) now and are inspired by the many things they see on his show.
