21  Re: AWESOME WALL LETTERS-----WITH TUTE!!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by jadeye on: March 20, 2008 06:52:10 PM
I just made these for a friends babyshower
They have beveled edges so I couldn't really trace the front (smallest edge) so I covered the front with purple paint I was using for the edges and "stamped" them down on the back of the paper, then cut out the stamped letter.

BTW her name is Aidyn, I had to take 2 pics to show some of the detail  Roll Eyes

I just got my 2nd package from emilee_bee!

The letter, quilt directions, and JoAnn's cupon

And....

A JoAnn's gift card (to go with the cupon to get a cutting board which I desperately need)
A rolling blade for cutting in straight lines with less effort
And quilting tape, thread, and material in my favorite color combinations!
She also sent a great little picture book that fits nicely in my purse

Thank you for a great second package emilee_bee!  It'll keep me busy during spring break.

23  baby name, decorated leters in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by jadeye on: March 20, 2008 05:55:37 PM
I decided to make letters for my friends daughter Aidyn for her baby shower coming up.
Thanks to Frix220 who posted a totally awesome idea!  This is my hand at it. As you can probably tell they're not perfect (a few bubbles here and there) but they were fun to make.
This is her link http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=157033.0

I had to break the name into 2 separate pics to show some detail:

24  I'm so in love with this dress it hurts - need help! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by jadeye on: March 07, 2008 09:04:20 PM
After a ton of searching through standard wedding dresses that just didn't seem to catch my attention, I found this dress...

Unfortunately the talented artist who creates these gowns is in the UK and requires about 3-6 fittings...I live in Chicago.  Her base price for the gowns also runs for 2,200 GBP (about $4,500 USD).

When I first saw this dress I almost teared up I was so excited.  I was hoping there would be a way to recreate this dress, corset and jacket ar if anyone had any ideas to get something similar put together.  Also does anyone know any talented seamstresses in the Chicagoland (or even midwest) who could possibly help me with this project?

Alrighty, time to finally post my pics of the awesome stuff I got from MT&G!

These are my little owlets that are so soft and undeniably cute

An owl pillow that works wonders for supporting my neck where my pillows don't
needless to say he goes to bed with me every night now lol!

And my absolute fav, an owl bag of awesomeness with a totally fab lining and you can see the owl cutout in the corner with the lining, I love it so much and have gotten compliments on it too.

Thank you soooo much MT&G you did an awesome job!

I'm going to post pictures for MT&G, I know she received and her naughty kittens are getting into mischief with another swap she has going on lol!  These are the things I sent her...

I ordered this bead from Japan, the pic doesn't do it any justice, but it's the cutist thing.  I made it into a keychain

I took this pic while on vacation in Alaska this summer.  She doesn't have one eye, she's just winking!

these magnets are a bit rough around the edges, my first attempt at working with resin

notecards

Owl pillow, I got the idea from another craftster, I'll try to find who it is

And lastly an owl tote so MT&G can carry her crafting supplies to her kids various events

Also first attempt at a stencil and I didn't like the handles on the original bag, so I made new ones
I don't get credit for the quote, I got it off a t-shirt lol!
