(I really hope this is the right section for this...)

This is a simple flower pin that I started making (multiples of) out of my boredom yesterday.  The flower is made of fleece with a button and there is a barrette glued to the back.  It looks really nice on me, my three year old niece, and my half year old nephew!

I went to the thrift store yesterday and saw this set of 18 tealight holders (three diffrent sizes) for $3 that was calling for me.  My sister took three of them, but I was determined to find something to do.

Thus, my Pin Head was born!



I spent about 30 minutes transferring all my pins from a jar to his head, but I'm happy with the result!

Yesterday, I was on a huge sewing rush and this is one of the things I made (and time ended up flying till 1 am while making this... oops!).  Because of all the small details and types of stitching, I had to hand sew him, and I only pricked myself about fifty times! So here he is:



And now, after another whole day of being distracted by sewing, I bring you his wife and child!

These are the first two cards I made (but not my first experience with paper crafting).  One was for my friend's graduation and one was for my One Year of Dating anniversary. I must say, it's easy to have too many ideas or too few ideas... but it takes way too much thinking to fill a card in a way I like it!



This is the graduation card... which I don't think was shown as much love as I gave it... eh, oh well.



This is the One Year card... yeah, so the pictures aren't the most romantic looking, but they didn't fit in the scrapbook and I couldn't let them go to waste!... plus I ran out of photo paper.

So Friday is our One Year of dating anniversary, and I've been putting this scrapbook together since about month four. We're celebrating today, so I get to give it to him sooner than I expected (and thank goodness, 'cause I'm getting too excited to wait and not ruin the surprise!).  I picked some of my favorite pages to post, cause it would be crazy posting the entire thing

I'm thinking of sewing mini stuffed lacrosse sticks for my lacrosse team. But there are parts of the stick which i dont know exactly how to make it work.... Here's what a girl's lacrosse stick looks like :



I have a few ideas, such as using an actual crafting stick (probably spray painted) as the handle/shaft and using netting for the ropey white part/mesh (its really hard to describe some of this in terms which can be understood).
I also want to put in some sort of ball to resemble a lacrosse ball (nothing too special to it).

What I need ideas for include:

-Materials/Providing structure in making the plastic part surrounding the mesh (the head)... so basically i need something thats bendable but can hold its shape.
-Connecting the shaft to the head


If anyone has any ideas, it would be well appreciated. I also want to keep it fairly easy, since I'd be making about twenty...

I have this bright orange fabric which I found the other day looking through my fabric, so I figured I would make a dress/shirt out of it.  It fits sew well (haha... sewing pun.) and I got so many compliments wearing it!  Its probably just about the simplest thing in the world.

I haven't quite gotten the sewing machine rhythm yet... which basically means by trying to sew slowly, I accidentally gun the machine.  Not good.  So I'm pretty sure the tension is messed up, but I'm not sure which to adjust or whether it needs to be tightened or loosened.  Or maybe it's not even a tension problem and I just messed up the machine... either way...

 

That's the series of events.  It starts off with one thread getting stuck... then another... and another... and when they actually manage to come up they end up turning out like a bunch of loops which jam the machine.  Awesome!

Any thoughts on what I could do to fix this problem (hopefully something I can do at home and not by a professional.. because I honestly have no idea who I could go to to fix this)?

So I got a dress form for Chirstmas (Yay!!)  and how else to celebrate but to sew!  I must say, it was so awesome not having to put on what im making over and over and over trying to pin the fabric while trying to hold it up.

Thanks for looking!  I appreciate any comments or complaints... Or just any tips or trick that will help me in later projects, especially tips on getting the best results from my dress form (this is one of very few projects that I've actually done... so I still consider myself a beginner).

So for the Girl Scout Camp this year, I was helping and we got these shirts on which everyone painted stripes and a skull on the front.  Our leader told us to get a large shirt for the camp, since she knew we'd all want to do SOMETHING with it, and something I did!!

So here it is!
