1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Pitbull in Andy Warhol style on: June 01, 2008 06:10:41 AM
I finally finished the project I'm super-proud of!  Roll Eyes
It's a portrait of my pitbull Patch. I designed the pattern from a photo.
After lots of changes in Photoshop, the pattern editing program and during the stitching process

this photo

turned into this

I need to iron it and to find a suitable frame but I wanted to show it off as soon as I finished the stitching  Cheesy

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / gift bag on: June 01, 2008 05:55:54 AM
I needed to find a gift bag for one of my best friend's birthday present, but I couldn't find anything suitable in the shops and I had only very little time for it. The only solution - I made my own gift bag!
about 30 minutes later:

The gift bag is sewn from a layer of the kind of cloth that is usually used for cross-stitch (like Aida?) and two layers of tulle

after the bag was done I added a little decorative... thing  Cheesy made from polymer clay

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Say hello to Mr. Turtle! on: May 17, 2008 03:45:52 PM
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm glad to introduce you to Mr. Turtle  Smiley

he's also saying 'hallo!' to everyone

and here you can see his belly

He is needle felted and has a comfortable clay shell. You can take the shell off and then you have a naked Mr. Turtle, but sorry, no pics... you know, kids might be watchin' this thread and all the stuff  Grin that's why I'll keep this little bit of Mr. Turtle's privacy  Cheesy
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / T-shirt with bull terrier image on: May 05, 2008 04:34:24 AM
Lately I didn't had much time for any creative activities because of my job and a lot of studying for the University, but yesterday I KNEW that i had to make at least a super-quick project or I'd go crazy so I decided to do some stenciling Grin
I found this cute bull terrier image on-line and modified it a little bit, then I used simple acrylic spray paints in two colors - blue and purple

The "HG" sign was already on the shirt when I bought it  Undecided (I didn't realized before how difficult it is to find simple T-shirts without any pictures, letters, words, labels etc...)

it's the whole T-shirt, I'm sorry, I realized only after the picture was taken that the left part of the T-shirt looks really crooked but I was too lazy to take a new picture  Grin

and a closeup, colors slightly washed out by the flash
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / my first biscornu! on: March 06, 2008 07:35:03 AM
well... as the title of the topic already says, here it is! my first biscornu!  Cheesy

I decided to keep the pattern simple because of the pretty yarn and nice color combination, so it's quite "geometrical"  Smiley

and I promise you, in real life it isn't so crooked! this shape is just too weird for taking good pics! Roll Eyes
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / bead-ducky on: March 06, 2008 07:29:28 AM
I desperately wanted to try my hand in bead embroidery and I already plan a quite big project, but before I start it, I decided to try something quick and small.
So this ducky appeared! I'm very proud of it because it's my first real own pattern!  Roll Eyes don't laugh, I know that it isn't that impressive but still I needed something to start with!  Cheesy

7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / stone with an eye on: February 04, 2008 04:03:44 PM
this is a very simple project but I desperately wanted to do it, I don't know why   Roll Eyes
Now he is sitting on my computer desk and watching me typing this post  Grin

material: clay imitating natural stone, a core made of paper and metal foil and a plastic eye

and one closeup just because I like him so much  Cheesy
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / cat + bunny = love on: February 04, 2008 03:57:54 PM
This is an image that I made on a store bought hoody as a birthday present for a friend.
Unfortunately I don't have an action shot of him wearing it =( but the size of the whole pic was almost like a A4-sheet
the idea of this picture is based of our inside joke about him being a cat and his girlfriend being a bunny. So I wanted to show their love  Smiley

without flash

with flash (more lifelike colors but also strange spots on the black parts. In real life they are solid black)
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / first attempt at clay animation on: January 23, 2008 02:13:27 AM
this is my very first attempt to make a clay cartoon  Smiley

it's very simple and short but I'm still super-proud of me  Grin I hope that one day I'll be able to create something more impressive  Cheesy

please excuse the crappy quality, I tried to make it as lightweighted as possible
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / phone cosy + wristband on: January 22, 2008 11:51:49 PM
last weekend I bought this great yarn and didn't know what to do with it

but then I decided to make a cosy for my phone so that it would stay safe and protected in my bag. It was a super simple and fast project, but turned out very pretty because of the yarn

here it's open

and closed

and I also made myself a simple wristband but it's so difficult to make pics of your own wrists =( it's the best one I could get  Sad It's very blurry but you get the idea! The wristband is done in Tunisian stitch and the ends are simple chains
