Here's the finished product, done on an F hook in TLC Wiggles.  For some reason in the picture you can really notice where I started each round, but I promise in person it's not that obvious.

Somewhere in between moving across the country and starting a new job I found time to crochet, but didn't find time to take pictures of completed projects.  So, here's a bunch Smiley

Connor modeling a scarf with a star embellishment .. my first try at crocheting a scarf vertically.

An Amineko kitty I made for my best friends son before we moved across the country

And an elephant I made for her daughter .. the pattern for this was a bit wonky and I wasn't all too happy with it but she loved it so I guess that's what matters.

Our roomie is deploying soon and asked for a hat he could wear under his kevlar helmet .. hence, the cammo hat.  Then Hubbles complained he wanted a hat too, so he got a hat resembling a bumblebee Tongue

And a little jack-o-lantern bucket I whipped up one day from my grandmom's old pattern.

Right now I'm working on the round ripple afghan for one of the two girls I am a Nanny for .. here's the progress so far:

Very nice, I love the colors!!
45  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Robot + Dinosaur = Happy Hubbles on: September 28, 2007 12:23:18 PM
Did this stencil off stencilry for my Hubbles a few weeks ago .. I was really nervous because it was on his favorite shirt ever and it's a weird henley type material (I think that's what it's called) but it came out pretty well .. a bit of bleeding and it was really scratchy and rough at first but after a wash it softened out perfectly!

Not the greatest picture, but if you've ever tried to get your Husband to pose for a picture in something you made you know what I'm up against.  Ignore our silly roomie too. Smiley

I was being lazy and didn't want to take out the digital camera and hook it up, so I made Hubbles hold it up so I could take a pic with Photo Booth .. haha Wink

I'm just starting the 17th round .. it's coming together really quickly!  I wish I had used a bigger hook ... making this with an F hook is no one's idea of a good time Wink

I finally started one of these for the eldest of my charges for Christmas (I'm a Nanny for a 2 year old and 8 month old) .. it's only 9 rows in so far but it's really cute!  I'm using TLC Wiggles in purple and yellow (on sale at Hobby Lobby for .99!) and an F hook .. will post progress pics soon!
48  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Good project to teach? on: September 14, 2007 05:20:07 AM
I am having a group of Army wives here Tuesday night to try and teach them how to crochet  Shocked  What was I thinking?  Haha!  Anyway,  can anyone suggest a good starting project to work on?  When I was taught my "learning" project was a granny square afghan .. but I'm thinking I may do dishcloths or maybe a simple amigurumi like Octopus Revolution?  Any suggestions would be incredibly helpful!
