141  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Two Granny Square Afghans on: June 27, 2007 05:15:27 PM
Hello all!  I'm new here but I wanted to post and show off the two afghans I've made so far.  I know they're not the regular Granny Square, but I don't remember what it's actually called .. it's just doing a Granny Square over and over and over haha Tongue  They're both for my husband, the first was his present for graduating Basic Training, and the second (that is currently still being worked on) is for his birthday (which is July 7th .. I'd better get moving Tongue)

The first one was the first thing I've ever crocheted.  My Nanny is the worlds greatest crocheter (in my opinion Tongue) and my mama is one of those people that can look at something and figure out how to make it, so I figured I should get started on learning and doing some projects!  I must say it is MUCH easier than knitting Tongue

Hope you like them, I'd love some opinions Smiley

142  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Octopode Pandemonium! (Now with Tutorial!) on: June 27, 2007 03:17:28 PM
Well I thought I would give this a try .. it's my first time ever crocheting following a pattern and the only thing I've ever crocheted besides 2 granny square afghans so I apologize that it's not the greatest, but I had a blast doing it and it came out cuter than I expected Smiley

I named him Sam the Surfing Octopus and he will be given to a dear friends daughter as part of her Beach Themed Birthday Party Smiley

This is my first post, so hello!  *waves*

I'm currently in Augusta, Fort Gordon to be exact, and dying to meet some other crafters!  I know the basics for knitting and crocheting but would love to learn more, and am going to venture into sewing some felt "monsters" sometime soon!  If anyone would like to chat about crafts and what not feel free to drop me a message on AIM at justTHATgoodxo or on my myspace at www.myspace.com/davysgirl
