1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My first Amigurumi! on: July 13, 2008 02:24:52 PM

My first project was the trio of little birds I made from the pattern I found here.

http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2007/02/19/birds-of-a-feather/

I just happened to have the three bright colors of the same yarn in my stash, so I went for it.  Because the birds crochet up so quickly, they make a really satisfying first project.  I started with the yellow, then the pink, then the blue and feel like I improved as I worked on each of them.

For my next project, I chose the "Best Bunny" project on the Lion Brand Yarn website.  Unfortunately, I chose to use this fuzzy pink angel hair yarn that I got for nearly nothing at a JoAnne that is going out of business.

OMG, I thought that yarn would be the death of me.  After completeing the head and body and several mangled arms, I scrapped the rest of the pattern and made the arms, legs and ears on my own.  Even with my limited experience,  I think Lulu, the pink fuzzy bunny turned out pretty cute.  Smiley

Thanks for checking out my Amis.  Smiley
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Little Miranda- my cat stuffie on: May 14, 2008 08:18:35 PM
I have a black cat who I love to bits, so I decided to make a little stuffy version of her.  Well, I did take some artistic license, but I love how she came out...

I ended up taking off the pink ear bits...

Here is real Miranda in her tutu for comparison...

Thanks for looking.  Smiley

I was so sad when I put my first Poppet in the mail to my cousin for her birthday that I started a Poppet for myself right away.  Smiley

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A little late to the Poppet party... on: April 30, 2008 11:42:28 PM
But here is my first ever Poppet.  She is for my cousin's 5th birthday.

She's not perfect, but I love her and can't wait to make another one for me, especially now that I have a little practice.

Thanks so much to Ghilie and to everyone who has posted in the Poppet along thread.  All of your help and advice made it way easier than I expected.  Smiley

and here she is from the back.

I didn't take a ton if pics because it's late, but I'll take more of my next Poppet.  Smiley
5  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / New on: June 24, 2007 09:29:34 PM
I just wanted to say hi!  I'm new here.  I stumbled across this site a while ago when I was trying to think of some new craft ideas and decided to sign up today.  I make CP soap and bath and body products, do some knitting, drawing, and painting, and am pretty much obsessed off and on with crafts of all kinds.  Smiley
