1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / HELP... Funny family reunion t-shirt sayings!! on: May 26, 2010 08:25:29 PM
So our big family reunion is coming up and our part of the family tree (there are over twenty-five of us) wore coordinating t-shirts to our last reunion.  This reunion I volunteered to do the t-shirts and got a really good deal on the shirts at Michaels.  Now I am looking for a funny saying to put on the t-shirt.  My brother is going to silkscreen them and needs a saying/design soon.  Any suggestions??  Thanks a bunch!

2  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 33 ENTRIES / Cue snake charmer music... on: December 03, 2008 05:00:06 PM
Hey Craftsters, this challenge was a great way to jumpstart my Christmas crafting.  I made this for my three year old cousin who love snakes.  He measures 3 feet in length, all stretched out.  He was super easy to make, sort of followed a pattern on Craftbits.com.  Did not cost me anything except for the two buttons plus I used up some leftover yarn.  Super easy and fun to make, but now he has to be wrapped and go under the tree until Christmas Eve!

Happy holidays and happy crafting!
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / HELP!! Last year's flapper girl dress into... what? on: October 04, 2008 08:18:44 PM
Okay, so I need a Halloween costume idea.  I have to wear this to school so keep that in mind!  I have a flapper girl dress from last year, sleeveless, goes down to the knee, black with the little strings all over it that move, that I would love to recycle into my costume this year because it fits me really well.  Any ideas?  I appreciate your help!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Necklace/Bracelet Holder on: May 19, 2008 02:38:41 PM
I was so happy with how this turned out and it was so easy that I just had to share.  I needed a necklace holder and after searching here I couldn't really find anything so I decided to get creative.  I had a picture frame covered in cloth and no regular sized picture fit in it so I removed the back and the hardware.  Then I had bought these cute push pins at the dollar store so I pushed some of those into the frame, added a ribbon to hang and viola, the cutest necklace holder I have seen.  Now if only I could find another frame to match... I have already run out of room!  Wink

Thanks for looking!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Boring Black Chair to Musical Madness... on: February 03, 2008 01:24:45 PM
So I had a free Sunday to do nothing and I was looking at my desk chair.  I got one of those cheap ones years ago and had it covered with a slip cover like thing that was my first ever sewing project and it was just not good.  Well I had a bunch of musical note fabric laying around because I bought two meters instead of just one (you know how the story goes...) so I put it to good use.  Anyways....

Anyways now that I have my musical chair done it means I must go practice my music... dang those craft projects with a purpose!!
Hope you like it and comment please!
6  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 24 ENTRIES / My "Get Your Butt In Shape and Exercise" Calendar... on: February 01, 2008 10:35:48 PM
Hey, hey, I must say this was one excellent Challenge as I finished ahead of schedule (I was done yesterday, ooh) and it is something I am actually going to use.  So I got a new treadmill just before Christmas and was doing really well running everyday, and then Christmas came, and well, you know.  I was tracking my stats on a nice piece of coloured paper taped to my closet door, so I think this is a must better improvement:

I love it.  I just took a regular cork board and made a grid with ribbon.  All the numbers on the calendar are magazine clippings under those flat marbles.  I hot glued those to push pins so that I could move them around at the end of each month.  I glued stars to push pins too so I get a star when I exercise (any motivation counts).  I can write on the tags the distance and time I ran for each day and there is also a spot to write my record from last month so I am constantly improving.  My Seventeen magazine started putting in really cool quotes every month, so I am going to cut those out and stick them on for even more inspiration.
Close-up of push pins and quote:

I am super excited with how this turned out and I am now going to actually have to start on my New Years Resolution, seeing as I was busy crafting all of January, and know I must fill up my board (however I only have like thirteen star push pins... hmmm... need to find more beads).
Hope you love it and it gives you some inspiration.  Don't forget to vote!
7  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 22 ENTRIES / Vinyl....mp3 (lotsa pics) on: November 04, 2007 08:43:39 PM
Hey, so I was watching this contest board for a few days and I must say that I feel very much like an amateur with my very basic entry but I promised myself I'd enter so I will just shut up and enter.  I was a little rushed; brought home the electronic baby for my psychology class this weekend... oops, bad weekend, anyways that's a whole other story; so I was just lucky I finished.  Anyways here goes....

I interpret ying and yang as two different parts yet still very similar and they both rely on one another.  So the theme I picked was vinyl (as in records) and mp3, similar, yet different and inter-related (is that a word??)  So here is side #1 (oh yeah I was cheap and only bought one pillowcase instead of two, ha ha!!)

Side #2

And of course the action shots...

Hope you like them... I thought they turned out pretty well considering my talent (or lack of) in this area of the crafting world.  Thanks for looking and don't forget to vote.
8  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 21 ENTRIES / Interchangable Scrabble Board Art.... on: October 03, 2007 08:12:10 PM
Hey just wanted to say this is my first craftster challenge ever, so here it is.... (cue drumroll...)

P.S. - Do you love the random accent lighting on the bottom?!?
Pretty simple compared to the rest of the craftster world but anyways.  The background is a pretty calendar I had.  The bottom shelf is the actual tile racks.  You might not be able to see it but I left little details like the letter distribution chart and the scrabble around the edges. You can change out the pictures, really easy.  Anyways, its hanging in my room and it looks pretty sweet so I hope you like it and don't forget to vote.... Thanks for looking!!
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Kleenex box into a card... on: July 03, 2007 03:40:39 PM
First off, I have to tell you that I have a small obsession about Kleenex boxes... I find them so pretty and cool... but anyways, I had this really cool Kleenex box that had a cool hologram on the front.

You probably can't see it but it is a really cool tree and it goes through all four seasons and it changes (loses it's leaves, grows new ones, etc.)  Anyways, I popped out the hologram and stuck it on a card for my best friend's birthday.  What do you think?

The inside says...
"Through summer, winter, spring and fall and everything in between.
You are my best friend and mean so much to me."
I'm not quite sure if I'm done, I still think the inside needs something else, but anyways, what do you guys think... and be honest!! Smiley

Thanks so much... oh and if you have any fabric marker tips... let me know.. Thanks a bunch!!
