Everything is so lovely this week!!

I've been spinning for the Tour de Fleece so I have lots of yarn this week:

"Slushie" spun from 2 oz of mystery wool I bought at a local fiber fest. sport weight

Sport weight yarn spun from Falkland wool dyed by chimera.etsy.com in the "Oberon" colorway

a super bulky merino silk blend I dyed with Kool aid

a small worsted weight skein spun from a dyed BFL cross fleece from Homestead Fiber Farm

bulky Falkland 2-ply. roving from FatCatKnits.etsy.com in the "Gremlin" colorway

I love the yarns this week, especially all the soft-spun singles. I'm jealous!
And Jazzturtle, I LOVE that pink yarn!!

Here's some stuff I've spun lately:

Sheeptime Knits Merino Tencel in the colorway Pewter, roughly sport weight

Cinderella, worsted weight singles spun from my first batt, Romney and firestar

Blaze, worsted to bulky weight from chimera.etsy.com

Keep up the great work, you guys! You never fail to inspire!

3  You Can Call Me Nannerpuss, Nannerpuss in Knitting: Completed Projects by craftycavy on: May 09, 2009 06:04:20 PM
And guess what? I like pancakes!
So I loved Nannerpuss from the Denny's commercials and decided to knit my own after seeing a croched version. Silly, I know.
I finished him a while ago and am just getting around to posting him.

He's loosely based on this pattern. http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/knit-patterns-banana.html He's knit with acrylic scraps and has a wee felt moustashe. His pancakes are craft felt, too.

Hope you like!

Here's a link to see the original nannerpuss! - jungrrl

Gorgeous stuff, everyone!
Here's my yarn this week. It's Superwash Merino from FatCatKnits on Etsy. It's so soft and drafts easily. It was a dream to spin! I wanted to spin fingering weight for socks but I think it's actually sport. That's okay, because sport weight socks go faster. This is the first skein. I haven't set the twist in the 2nd skein yet.

I love Fiber Friday! I've had a crappy week and seeing all this beautiful handspun cheers me up.

One yarn this week:

Glamourous Garden Party
roving from the March shipment of the Rawfish Fiber Club
2.5 oz merino, icicle, banana fiber, sari silk, glitz, felted llama locks
wrapped in pink and green thread- my first time trying this technique

Yay for Fiber Friday!

This week I spun up some BFL from FatCatKnits.

"Day's End"

I love it! It's my most consistent yarn ever! The weight is sport to dk but I don't know the yardage because I'm too lazy to figure it out.

I also finished spinning up my February shipment from Rawfish Fibers.

"Candy". Merino, Mohair, glitz, sari silk. Spun thick and thin.

Beautiful yarns, everyone!

Everything is so lovely. You guys are inspiring!
..and pmpknpunk, I love that green corespun!

I don't have any handspun this week, but I did get some goodies from Rawfish Designs. Check her out: http://www.rawfish.etsy.com. I joined the fiber batt club, my first fiber club ever!

Candy- 2 oz of Merino, Mohair, glitz and sari silk. Soooo pretty and soft.

More goodies!

I can't wait to spin this up!

Oooh! Cool yarn, grayling40!
I spun some BFL from Fire Lizard Studios. The colorway is called 'Fire'. I love the intensity of the colors.

Hopefully, I'll be getting a new wheel soon and spin more often. I've been saving up and have my heart set on a Ladybug.

9  Kaari from Norah Gaughan Vol. 1 in Knitting: Completed Projects by craftycavy on: September 12, 2008 04:18:42 PM
I finished Kaari from Norah Gaughan Vol. 1 about a week ago and I love it! I knit it as a seamless top-down raglan because black yarn is so hard to seam. I used about 7 1/2 balls of Valley Yarns Colrain and size 8 needles.
BTW- This yarns attracts pet hair like a magnet so, pet owners, be sure to keep a lint roller in tow!

Jadzy, that cashmere is so beautiful and fine. Awesome job! I hope to spin my yarn that thin some day.
Pmpknpunk, I looooove those colors! They look like a watercolor painting; Monet is a good name!

I got some fiber from Homestead Wool and Gift Farm as an early birthday present from my mom. I started carding one of the dyed fleeces this week and spun up a sample skein.

"Clear Lake" from a Romney cross sheep named Molly. The fleece is so crimpy and shiny.
The yarn isn't as consistent as I'd hoped for...it goes from sport to worsted. I need to perfect my handcarding skills.
