1  UNITED STATES / North Carolina / Raleigh area - Which Craft Fairs on: June 15, 2010 07:24:26 AM
I am looking to sign up to do some craft fairs this fall and winter and am wondering what craft fairs some of the veterans out there would never want to miss?  I've already gotten the information for Mistletoe Market and am looking for a few more.  TIA!

Thanks!
RockingMyBabies - just an FYI, I did not sew the corkers to the dress.  I actually attached them to 2 small hair elastics that I wrapped around the buttons  Smiley

I saw this really sweet patriotic dress at cracker barell, but was unwilling to pay the $40.00 so I went home and created my own version for less than $4.  I already had the red and white stripe fabric, the pattern and the corkers make up Smiley

semi action shot - she was praying

A little apron top - pattern from YCMT (faith double layer top)

summer dresses I made on some snow days, I had to have something to look forward too (mccalls, see and sew,  and new look patterns)

skorts (YCMT preppy skirts patterns-the khaki one is my own modifications on the pattern)

what about this one from YCMT?  I've made a few, they work up fast and are really cute.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Favorite Twirl Pattern? on: April 06, 2009 07:46:47 AM
My daughter (3 yr old) is all about the twirl-ability of a dress.  Two of our favorites are a tshirt dress that has three gathered strips (from a Hancock pamphlet 2 yrs ago) and then a portrait peasant dress from YCMT that I accidentally made the skirt twice the width the pattern intended (turned out great anyway and she LOVES that dress.)
Just wondering what your twirling girls favorite dresses are and if you can share the pattern information with me?
TIA!

Gorgeous, your sister is sweetly blessed to have you make that for her!

Beautiful!  That fabric is gorgeous, I have fabric envy over here Smiley
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need kids clothing patterns that use FQs on: March 29, 2009 12:41:19 PM
I love to use FQ's in place of bandanas.  I also like to piece them together and make bloomers, shorts, and twirly skirts.  I have also used them to make the Hope Joy Bubble Top (pattern at YCMT.)
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Elastic in Sleeves of Peasant Dress on: December 27, 2008 11:00:31 AM
Thanks so much for both of your responses.  I want to be lazy and just sew it right in, but I've never done that before and I bought some expensive fabric to make the uber special birthday dress with.  I think I will try Aislynn's method with the bias fold tape this go 'round.

Oops, I meant to specify that it is when you put the elastic in the sleeve by the upper part of the arm.  It will be a 3/4 length sleeve, but I want to put some elastic in at the tricep area.
