1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 70 gallery on: July 16, 2011 06:17:18 PM
I love that dead fish hat.  I keep telling myself I need to make one for me, dear hubby and the kiddo.  But the mouth part intimidates me.

The cupcake scarf looks yummy, I bet my sister would like something like that.  Might have to put that on my list of things to make for holiday gifts.  I already have a book with a pattern for it too.

I'm not swapping this round and have been completely MIA, but I just wanted to tell ya, misspoppet, that the mouth part really isn't that bad. Just read the rows carefully and you should be good to go. The mouth requires short rows and there's a very good video on knittinghelp.com.

Thank you for posting pictures, Xandrigirly. Between the husband getting home a wk ago & wanting to spend every waking moment with him, preparing for my parents' arrival tomorrow & their week-long visit, trying to catch up on my swaps that I'm late sending out for, & planning & shopping for my 3 children's combo bday-cook out party next week, I don't even know where my camera is. Embarrassed I'll track it down and get some action pictures as soon as I can. I seriously LOVE everything you sent & the bracelets have saved us from some embarassing 2yo meltdowns while out shopping. Cheesy

I received an AMAZING package from Xandrigirly (I'm sorry if I got your username wrong; I'm going on 4 hrs of sleep)!!! She sent me 2 charm bracelets: 1 is a rainbow of buttons and the other has a pacman and 4 ghosts on it, and 3 pairs of earrings: 1 pair of cherries (with red buttons as the cherries, so cute!), 1 pair with Mario stars, and 1 pair with red pacman ghosts! She also, very generously, sent me some of the comic book word flannel that Dawl made my son's lunch bag out of. Now I can make him some matching napkins for this coming school year! Thank you so much Xandrigirly! I love it all! Let me know if you ever want to personal swap. I'd love some pacman and Mario themed stitch markers and my son is begging me to have someone make him a pacman w/ ghosts key chain (even though he doesn't have any keys  Roll Eyes).

Yay! Now hopefully I'll get some feedback so I have a spot open in time.

Wow! You made out like a bandit, mama24boyz (+1 princess)! I hope you like the scents of the wool wash and spray. The little flower shaped soap bar is in case poo gets on the shorts, lol (regular baby shampoo would work too). Those journals are really awesome!

*hides* I still need to post pictures.

That reminds me.  I meant to ask, what are the little pieces of...Huh?  I  dunno, they kinda look like soap too.  And the shorts match the yarns you sent too, so I can easily make a drawstring out of one of them.  How and where do I put the string thorugh?  No rush, lol, they're the size of her!!  But they will fit perfect in the cooler months.  Its too hot to wear them now anyways.  Shes usually only in a onesie its so hot.

The little pieces are wool wash cubes. You melt one in a mug of water (I put mine in the microwave for 1.5 min) & then add it to your tub of water that you have the shorts soaking in. It's wool wash and lanolin in 1 cube (ratio is 1 cube per wool item), so you don't NEED the spray, but I included it because I like to spray extra lanolin in the wet zone of my son's woolies for extra protection...plus it smells nice. Wink If you want to mail them back to me (I can send you some paypal to help with shipping), I'd be willing to lengthen the shorts into longies with a little ruffle at the end (in place of the cuff) so that she can fit them when it's cooler there. I'm sorry that they don't fit her right now.  Undecided

7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Yarnies Vs Sewists R4 Sendouts: June 6, 2011 on: June 04, 2011 02:05:31 PM
I'm trying so hard to finish up and send on time. My hubby came home from Korea on Thursday and surprised me with a trip to a bed & breakfast, so it's cut into my crafting time.  Roll Eyes LOL

My hubby is home and treated me to a wonderful night at a bed & breakfast and dinner at Benihana! It was amazing to have that special time with him. Smiley

I'm frantically crafting away. I have 2 swaps where the sendout is the 6th so I'm hoping to finish on time. I haven't knitted/crocheted/sewn since Thursday! Shocked

I think I'm going to sit out at least the first half of this month. Things are just too busy here. Sad

*facepalm* Please tell me that they aren't different sizes. I am so sorry, susanb!!! I'm making you a replacement set. Again, so, so sorry. Sad

All of the cuffs are amazing and I do have pictures of the awesome goodies that susanb sent me, but I seem to have misplaced my camera cord. I will find it tonight as I have to get the house cleaned up and presentable again before my husband gets home from Korea on Thursday.  Roll Eyes
